Newt Gingrich is taking steps toward a potential presidential bid in 2008
The former House speaker who led Republicans to power a decade ago said he soon will visit Iowa and New Hampshire to promote his book, try to influence public policy and keep his political options alive.

-snip-

"It never hurts to maximize opportunities. That's the American tradition," Gingrich said. "If I can influence the reporters and political activists in Iowa and New Hampshire, they will influence the candidates."

31. Fraudulent majority Congress, Rep leaning courts, No filibuster...
Edited on Mon Jan-10-05 06:36 PM by mordarlar
"nuclear option", increasing lean on free speech, patriot act, the new doomsday act, and who knows what else is coming. Bush is not changing our constitution and partisan balances as fast as he possibly can simply to let a Dem WIN next time. We can try and pass all the bills we want to repair elections. In minority with no filibuster and a nuclear option they will fly whatever they want. A fraudulent election would have benefited far more people than Bush. They are not going to GLADLY go along with changing things in a way they cannot manipulate. And with them trying to rid the filibuster option they will not have any challenge from the minority. Think about it. Either we stop him NOW or we watch as it becomes far worse.

Bush loooves Doomsday tragedies.

>>> Congress Passes 'Doomsday' Plan
By Noelle Straub
The Boston Herald

Sunday 09 January 2005

Washington - With no fanfare, the U.S. House has passed a controversial doomsday provision that would allow a handful of lawmakers to run Congress if a terrorist attack or major disaster killed or incapacitated large numbers of congressmen.

"I think (the new rule) is terrible in a whole host of ways - first, I think it's unconstitutional," said Norm Ornstein, a counselor to the independent Continuity of Government Commission, a bipartisan panel created to study the issue. "It's a very foolish thing to do, I believe, and the way in which it was done was more foolish." <<<

>>>Usually, 218 lawmakers - a majority of the 435 members of Congress - are required to conduct House business, such as passing laws or declaring war.

But under the new rule, a majority of living congressmen no longer will be needed to do business under "catastrophic circumstances." <<<

>>>The circumstances include "natural disaster, attack, contagion or similar calamity rendering Representatives incapable of attending the proceedings of the House."<<<

Let's see how he tries to spin his 3 wives and messy divorces in a "moral, family values" way.

This should be pretty interesting.

Hoesntly, I don't even think you could convince someone capable of committing election fraud to alter results to favor Newt. I mean, the guy isn't even popular with Republicans any more!

Perhaps a victory something like the last two. You know, the ones no one but us seem to be aware of?

I wasn't really being sarcastic.
I honestly believe the Dems won the last two elections. (where do you get one of those nifty tin foil hats?)
And unless something happens soon, I see no reason why the powers that be wouldn't steal the next one.
dense? That's real nice. Thanks

9. it's very clear, the Repubs path to victory resides in
finding a candidate that OPPOSES Bush policy.

Just watch, they know that people hate Bush. The only way for them to win again (except for stealing it again) is to find Republican candidates that are critical of Bush. supposedly newt's new book is highly critical of Bush, and so is Chuck Hagel.

Any time you hear of a high level Republican being highly critical of Bush (especially concerning the war) think about that person as a potential candidate in 08.

25. Some people said the same thing about Reagan...
and look what happened!

I remember vividly watching "All in the Family" in 1976/77, where Archie was spouting off about Carter winning the election. As Mike was giving him hell, Archie blew a respberry and said "All I have to say to you is Ronald Reagan in 4 years." The audience howled, thinking it was so over-the-top, it was ridiculous.

17. The Republicans could run Strom Thurmond for president and he'd win
Being dead is no obstacle anymore.

The Republicans can elect anyone they want to now.

All they need is more voting machines.

They could parade Strom's rotting corpse around on a pole and talk about how he's campaigning on his "vision" and "policies," and not "just his record."

They would say, "Strom Thurmond's corpse has a vision and a plan for America."

So, let's start a web page:

16. Hagel, Grinrich
E-voting fraud is the most ironclad in their states and with their full knowledge. I always knew Gingrich would come back again. Both men have been posing themselves as "opposition" to Bush in certain policies. Does anyone have to have Bush dynasty permission to hold the reins of the whole GOP fraud machine?

They probably envision a hiatus in the dynasty with some ambition blinded sap allowed to turn people off with weak GOP gangland support and the ultimate poison- freer exchange of ideas and real work. Without 100% sham the sh*t will hit the fan for the next slob. It could be a Dem if things really really go bad, but the springboard will be reset for Jeb or whomever as long as fraud and fraudulent media reigns supreme.

You could have faced these facts years ago. There is no GOP slimeball so deeply buried by the disgust of the public or scandal who could not have hopes of seizing the WH- thanks to the weakness of patsy Democratic party leadership.

Remove for a moment the heady dreams of winning the hearts and minds of America or a GOP meltdown based on facts or continuation of Democratic Party efforts as in the past. The inevitable signs of lockstep tyranny are constantly showcasing these predictable outrages and horrors with total impunity.

Lately a few even more naive people(Libertarians) have finally seen they are getting betrayed. That was inevitable and the rage is impotent.Because the positions and the work they put in to advance their ideals demand and receive more attention and loyalty than facing the main problems. Like the Bolsheviks and the Girondists or whatever idealistic and "tough" faction, they are petty thinkers to behead, imprison and ignore at the whim of those controlling the reins.

The guilty parties are few. The system is monstrously tentacled. Both are barely touchable though they are nothing more than a complex of granted illusions like any other human creation. What makes it more possible for the Constitution to be changed for a shallow Bushista movie actor shaded fascist than for the ERA to be passed? What makes the dolts, the ugly, the crooks and the cheats to have aspirations on the presidency while storybook heroes and brilliant legislators for people and country face an uphill- not an equal playing field- struggle?

The lies should be destroyed. Lies are not vital social myths. They are a void, a vacuum inviting possession by the worst of humanity.

19. Do you really think Bush will leave the White house while he's alive?
Does anyone doubt that there will be some kind of "crisis" that requires Bush to "invoke emergency powers" to extend his term indefinitely?

Keep in mind that the house just voted on a rule to declare that in a state of emergency, 2/3 of the house can be a quorum.

I imagine that any "emergency" would somehow result in those 2/3 present happening to be the Repugs that are Bush's puppets.

We are stuck with Bush for the foreseeable future.

22. Good point
because it is not as crazy as Bush sounds. He seems to "know" certain things which in the main, as far as harming people and the nation, come true. Sure the Iraq mess is a continual screw up, but nothing really alarms Bush in his faith for the Big Picture. Bush has used divisions and selling out to castrate all rivals and enemies. The new pretenders themselves, blinded by their own egos, do not often face up to the reality of Bush power. If Rove and company decide to chasten or crush certain recalcitrants they can do so. Guiliani, McCain and Powell were very predictable roadkill. Pathetic. Fellow neocons, even those on the fringe of the WH circle will fare no better in the long run unless disaster strikes the Bush success- which they know might well bring them all down. This makes non-Bushes all eunuchs except in their own delusions. Bush never brings anything but thugs and mopes around him now. Even the pretense of grooming a viable non-Bush is lost almost in a brush-clearing zone around the presidency. The quality is so bad they can't even do their assigned jobs. Power comes first.

The possibility of Jeb is too starkly unbelievable for most to face, but I wouldn't be surprised in the least for the right moves and the success to eventually happen. Maybe they HAVE to. They certainly don't trust even their most loyal and criminally complicit or dumbest partners. From what I see, when it comes to "sharing" the presidency, there is not going to be a polite anointing of a non-Bush allowed- if the world is still standing by 2008.

More wars, calamities are in the offing. History, if not stupid fanaticism, assures him of the ease of negative expectation. The tragedies are pre-gamed, but not just any tragedies. Bush blowing off the tidal wave catastrophe shows his unconcern AND his undisturbed focus.

So far he has it his own way and his own way shows NO fear for when he leaves power, no concern for defeat in Iraq, no concern for the oil empire march, no concern for the inadequacies of Homeland Security, the absurdity of Star Wars or the cleverer manipulations of other nation rivals.

To say that nothing has come close to coming to grips with the alarming threat of Bush is a bitter understatement. Everyone is looking to their wisdom, their future, their jobs, their individual careers and lives without ever seeing the omnipotent monarch strolling unconcernedly toward "unimaginable" disasters that are no secret to him. The disasters are no more unimaginable than the brutally predictable evil Bush will unleash when they occur, sitting there, doing nothing except to aggravate the harm for his own interests- interests that the society is not allowed to frontally contemplate.

and take his pension and life time 100% health care for life if he would just resign and stay out of politics for a couple of years.

he LOOTED a fund to put poor black kids thru college and used the money to make millions on some NEOCON lecture video series.. he did in a Reich Wing college.. this was a NEOCON series of propaganda tapes to be distributed around the college community's in this country...

he arrogance is typical of the NEOCON's in the White House now.

had he been prosecuted he would have done at least 35 years in a prison country club.
