Metro for the inauguration |
|
If you are planning on driving to the VA/MD burbs and then taking Metro note that some of the parking garages are no longer attended but still require payment. This means you need to buy the Smarttrip card in the station. The cost for the card is a couple of buck in iteself and you have to put money on the card. I believe the minimum you can pay is $10.00. Read the signs as you enter the garage to determine if you need to get a smarttrip. Also be sure to put enough money on the card for both directions of your trip. You don't want to get stuck in line downtown having to purchase a new card or add to the one you bought on the way down. Fares are different for rush hour and off peak. look at the map when you enter the station for the cost and times.
