Widespread systematic vote machine fraud, and dirty tricks and suppression of minority registration and voting in many states in 2004 Election: summary of some of the documentation

Although it was thought that voting in Touchscreen machine counties produces no paper trail, this was not the case this year since the widespread problems found in the 2000 election resulted in 60 non-partisan organizations interested in fair elections forming a consortium in 2004 to provide an election incident reporting system(EIRS) for reporting election irregularities. Thousands of such irregularities were reported in several swing states, especially in touchscreen counties, thus providing a paper trail for election irregularities down to the precinct and even machine level in many cases. From this and other investigations, including the Ohio recount effort, vote machine fraud and systematic dirty tricks and suppression to reduce minority votes has been documented in most states investigated. It is also clear that this was a systematic effort, not isolated local events.

I just mainly look at a few big counties in various states- and these
are just a sample of the incident reports. There were between 30,000 to 40,000 reported so I don't have time to go through all counties of all states or the thousands for some counties- such as in Florida, Ohio, New Mexico, etc.

4. These are illegal actions and those responsible not hard to know

So most of these can be easily followed up on. The reports document touchscreen fraud down to the precinct level, and sometimes to the machine level. And its pretty clear who was responsible for many of the illegal dirty tricks and malfeasance in many cases. The names are given in some cases, and not hard to find in others. All it takes is someone caring enough about fraud and illegal actions to follow up.

I can't do it all. Lots of really good info here, and lots of obvious malfeasance and dirty tricks that were illegal or unethical that shouldn't have happened, and should be followed up on.

Everyone look at the reports for a few counties of interest and compile the most relevant cases.

The suppression of minorities by official and poll workers is widespread and malfeasance in many cases- it should be pursued as enforcement issue- regarding those responsible(imo)

The widespread systematic dirty tricks throughout the country in minority precincts to reduce minority vote were illegal acts, and should be pursued per the law and in terms of avoidance of such in the future(imo)

The widespread touchscreen vote machine fraud(and fraud documented for other types of voting equipment) are also illegal and should be pursued legally in this election and in terms of election reform to prevent such.
Paper trails, requirements on pre and post monitoring of computer compiler software, units should be self contained, no outside access by manufacturer reps. Touchscreens are clearly unreliable and insecure way to vote currently. It might be impossible to fix their problems- but the security could be improved if they are to be allowed to be used.

There are also issues of partisanship of election officials;
campaign contribution spending limits;
instant runoff balloting, etc.

those who committed illegal or unethical actions are dealt with in the proper manner? Thats a next step.

And also making sure the election system is reformed to make this type of widespread corruption more difficult next election.

17. My post and summary don't cover other major fraud/malfeasance types

such as the widespread voter registration fraud that occurred in many states such as Florida, Ohio, New Mexico, Nevada, etc. etc.

and extremely widespread manipulation of absentee votes

and ballot stuffing/phantom votes which occurred in many counties and with all types of counting systems.

Large numbers of these are identified in the reports on the incident report data bases of www.voteprotect.org

and the Greens found some of these in Ohio in the recount
