I knew he would. I live in a pretty conservative area that is mainly Republican. The number of Kerry supporters in my area was quite impressive. The area that I pass through on my way to work is an area made up of very wealthy people, people that would normally be very Republican. During the campaign the number of Kerry/Edwards lawn signs on the lawns of these estates, equalled the number of * signs. This was amazing to me. Another piece of evidence was the number of newspapers that endorsed the Kerry/Edwards ticket. Many, many of them had not endorsed a Democratic candidate in quite a few election cycles. In the contacts I had with people during the campaign, there were many people I talked to that said they were Republican, but would not vote for * because of the horrible job he was doing as the president. People I knew who had not voted in years (shame on them!) went to the polls on Nov. 2. They went because they wanted to vote for Kerry. They wanted * out of power. The early polls on election night had Kerry well ahead. The number of people that went to rallies for Kerry was unbelievable. The last rally in my area had lines that wrapped around and around and around again. People waited for two hours to get in the building. Many, many did not get in. People I talked to in these lines said they had been there in 2000 to hear Gore. The line to get in was nothing...nothing like the lines to hear Kerry. I don't need exit poll data, or any other data to convince me that Kerry won this election. I believe he won it by a much larger margin than we will ever know. The truth will come out. It is starting to emerge a little bit more each day. The MSM is not doing it's job, but we are. Through our efforts, the truth will come out. Vigilence is imperative. Persistance a necessity. A thick skin is helpful. * is going down. People will wake from their stupors, but only when it starts to impact them in a personal way. Not all are willing to put themselves on the line for the many, but there are many of us who are. For myself, several of my friends consider me "a bit daft", but in the next breath they have thanked me for my efforts. "Someone has to," they say. Whew...I think this is the longest post I've ever written. Feels good to let it out!
