Same strategies being used in Iraq that were effectively applied in US
The same strategies are being used full strength in Iraq that were effectively applied in the US and it is clear that the Bush regime will undoubtedly manipulate the Iraqi vote (as they did in Florida, 2000, Ohio, 2004 and elsewhere) with the outcome that the Iraqi people will ”elect” hand-picked U.S. candidates who will encourage the genocidal occupiers of their nation to tarry a little longer in Iraq.

2. I absolutely believe the "election" is
rigged. I don't need to point out the facts. If anyone has doubts, just take a look at the dozens of threads here at the DU.

They know their days are numbered in Iraq. We will run out of troops, and out of money before they "accomplish their mission".

It's important to realize that the Bush administration was completely against an election. But in 2003, after intense insurgency, the US understood that if it angered the Shi'a, they would be out very quickly.

So a deal was brokered with Mullah Al-Sistani to hold elections. This was NOT the US's idea. They really had their backs against the wall. At this point, they are hoping it will buy them some legitimacy, if only for a time.
