9. I could never watch it. I was listening to AAR. They were goofing on W
Edited on Wed Feb-02-05 10:20 PM by BrklynLiberal
as he was speaking. The speech was sort of in the background, and you could almost hear it. Sam Seder, Janeane Garafolo and the guy from the Center for American Progress were there talking about the lies and all the really disgusting things that W was saying. It was great. Reminded me of Mystery Science Theater, an old TV show, where you saw the silhouette of a guy and his robot making crazy comments all during a grade B Sci Fi movie. That was the only thing that made it bearable. Sam and Janeane hate him as much as we do.

10. I didn't hear the boooing, but heard it discussed on NPR
One of the pundits or reporters thought it was a big deal.

11. It is a big deal. Much is made that the Congress is not like the House
of Commons in a Parlimentary system.

12. G_d, yes, I heard it and was so proud of them!!!!!!!!!......... I had
class and didn't get home until 9:45. However, C-Span repeated it and I saw it all and Thank G_d, our Dems did us PROUD!!!!!!! YES, they booooed when a** talked about social security....when the C-Span camera scanned the Dem side of other aisle, I noticed that they weren't clapping and BEST OF ALL, THEY WEREN'T STANDING!!!! Damn, I think they have all had a spinal transplant! I think the next four (maybe, if the impeachment does not happen), will be a battle royale, just what we have been begging for!

G_d bless our Democrats!!!!!!!!

16. Yay!
I'm happy about this. I did turn it on there on MSNBC and saw a few min's of it and whenever Bush said something the republicans thought was great and they stud I noticed some people weren't standing so I figured it was the dems. :D I spotted Kerry. ;) (Mainly cause of his height and his hair). Only other thing I saw was the whole show with the Iraqi woman. :eyes: After that I said "forget it" and watched cartoons.

14. What gets me is how WhatsHisFace can lie without flinching...
In the midst of the booing (actually it sounded like a lot of "NOOOO's"), WhatsHisFace didn't miss a beat. He has NO shame whatsoever. He is flat-out lying.

For those who missed it, check it out at www.cspan.org. (Move the queue bar to the 19:00 point.)

17. I think Bush really believes what he's saying
Either that or he's a really good liar. Isn't he lying to Congress? I thought that was illegal?

25. There's no doubt in my mind that he's an exceptional liar.
Edited on Fri Feb-04-05 12:01 PM by 8_year_nightmare
He has no qualms about lying to Congress; he just covers up each lie with "bait & switch" games & euphemisms.

I watched "Nixon" last night on TCM; the parallels between his administration & this one is stunning. We can only hope his protective shell of enablers grows a conscience.

19. I listened. Sounded like a lot of "no's." Kind of like House of Commons
grumblings.

His annunciation sounded strang(er than usual). Almost "challenged." How could anyone take him seriously?
Couldn't listen to anymore...just the boo's. Thanks for giving us the exact "cue" so I didn't have to (barf) listen to it all!

21. That's exactly what it was "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
Barbara Boxer was on CNN this morning and confirmed it was done in the style of the House of Commons.

What is so significant here is that all pundits I saw last night agreed that this is the first time anyone could remember vocal opposition being expressed during a SOTU message.

Maybe, just maybe the Dems will band together and begin actively opposing the backwards policies of the retarded cowboy and his corrupt regime.

20. Like "talk", booing is cheap..
Lets see how much opposition they give him.
In this case, it will be alot because the polls will be against B*.
