Ellen O. Tauscher surprised me with her reply to my letter!
In response to my "universal fax" to my senators and congressfolk, Ellen O. Tauscher, D, 10th District, CA sent me a VERY PERSONAL reply:

"Many reports of voting irregularities and fraud have circulated throughout the country since November 2nd. Accounts of computer hacking and/or direct tampering of voting machines are circulating in the media. Individuals who reviewed election results in Ohio, Florida, and elsewhere have found peculiar voting patterns. The Associated Press reported that an electronic voting system gave President Bush 3,893 extra votes in suburban Columbus. The list is long, and although most of the rumored accounts of election fraud have been proven false, many people have voiced serious doubts about the honesty and fairness of the last election.

Although Senator Kerry has already conceded the Presidential election, the government has an obligation to investigate electoral fraud. Every voter has a right to know that each vote was accurately recorded and counted. I believe every instance or allegation of fraud should be thoroughly investigated. Since November 2nd, I have been working with my colleagues in Congress to respond swiftly and thoroughly to all of these allegations. While there is no current evidence that would change the ultimate outcome of the 2004 Presidential Election, I believe that each credible report of voter fraud must be taken seriously."

Now, is this just a brushoff? Where did she get her information? Is she quoting from Conyers' letter? I just thought it was interesting that I didn't get the usual "form" letter telling me she was "working on my issue?"

3. Sounds good!
You're lucky.

The only response to my correspondence so far has been a letter from Sen. Maria Cantwell about Tsunami preparedness.

Maybe she was being droll.

6. While it doesn't brush you off, it does seem like
a form letter she or an aid has put together to address any complaints about election fraud. It's a good thing that someone went to the trouble to gather this information, but I sure wish someone would share with me this

"although most of the rumored accounts of election fraud have been proven false,"

that I keep hearing about. I have heard this same comment mentioned regularly when election fraud allegations are being discussed on radio or tv. Are any of you aware of any real accounts that have been proven false?

What am I missing?

7. yes where have "most of the accounts of election fraud
been proven false?" I would certainly counter her on that one.

Can anyone cite ANY examples where election fraud has been PROVEN false?

10. Yeah, sounds form letterish to me.
I dont blame them I guess, but it would be cool to get one hand written saying
"You go girl (boy)" or whatever..

8. I strongly disagree...
"although most of the rumored accounts of election fraud have been proven false"

At this time not a *single* account has been *proven false* or
even satisfactorily explained.

Where do they get their facts?

11. How can the say "proven false"?
When you can't prove it false?
Its not logical to say they have been proven false.
You will never prove the real allegations false, you can only prove the elections TRUE.
THAT has never been done, and won't be.

13. We need to draft a letter to ALL congresscritters, and quote rep. Tauscher
about the allegations of fraud being "proven false", and ask them to name WHICH allegations, and HOW they were "proven" false.

If we pose this in a question form, they're going to have to think about it before answering, and then do some research. Of course, we send them OUR research, and engage them in a more meaningful way.

I see that there are a lot of threads these days getting away from the election fraud issue, and it kind of distresses me. The bush cabal has, for too long, counted on human nature, and has let the passion against their crimes to die down, as they continually hit us with more and more outrageous mob activity. Their tactics are shrewed, but we have to stay focused and active, as if our lives depended on it....'cause they do!!

16. Not too surprising
Tauscher is East SF Bay, Contra Costa and Alameda Counties, CA. She came into office beating out a Republican incumbent if I remember. Alameda is entertaining contracting black box voting to handle future elections (its not Diebold, the acronym's escaping me, I want to write SES). By no means can her seat be safe, so it is likely she is very aware of the issue, and its implications.
