Strange patterns and info on The Election Center's financials. (The Election Center is the quasi organization that is supposed to educate and inform election officials, but takes money from Diebold, ES&S and Sequoia)
It appears that their cash on hand keeps growing, and they show "unrealized gains" on their 2003 990, and that could mean that they own stock.
How do I find out what companies they own stock in? Could it be the voting machine companies?
Fact: Election Center's finances from the last few years. Their income and expenses were about the same until 2000, since then, they've raked in about $600,000 that they're just sitting on at this point. By now they could operate for about two years without having to get any more money.
In their 2003 IRS filing, fully one-sixth of their money from the last four years came from investments and large donations. This includes $65,000 from groups that each donated totals larger than $11,700.
