Dean is expected to have the necessary votes when the 447-member DNC meets
Dean's Bid to Lead Dems Gets Mixed Views
By WILL LESTER, AP

WASHINGTON (Feb. 6) - Howard Dean's bid for chairmanship of the Democratic Party has tapped into members' hunger for a fighter who can recruit new supporters, raise plenty of money and inspire enthusiasm in a party out of power.

Numerous members of the Democratic National Committee have rallied to Dean, reminded of his ability to galvanize voters through the Internet, grass-roots organizing and fund raising from small donors.

On Friday, the field challenging Dean was reduced by two as activists Simon Rosenberg and Donnie Fowler abandoned their bids and endorsed Dean. The remaining opponent is former Indiana Rep. Tim Roemer, who has gotten little support.

Dean is expected to have the necessary votes when the 447-member DNC meets Feb. 12.

4. Do you find it strange that the headline does not match the write up?
The headline reads "Dean's Bid to Lead Dems Gets Mixed Views".
Yet the article clearly indicates the Dems are expected to vote for Dean. How is that "Mixed Views"? Seems pretty clear and straight forward to me. True, not everyone thinks Dean is perfect but that does not give me a "Mixed" signal which is what the headline implies. In fact I almost skipped over this whole post because it implied that the Dems were still undecided and I didn't want to read everyone's opinions again.

I guess since this is an AP story, I should expect misleading and manipulative information about liberals.

Glad to see Dean take over. Maybe he can shake up some of these staid liberals.
