2. Actually, Murdoch might be better than Bush
I worked for one of his companies years ago, and he was fine. The guy he put in as CEO was great.

I'm still opposed to the bill, however. I think someone should have grown up in the U.S. to understand its traditions.

3. Sort of, but...
Sometimes I think some people who haven't grown up in the U.S. have a better understanding of its traditions, and it's history, especially with regard to foriegn interventions.

5. agreed
the big talk wherre I'm from (Michigan) is about our governor, Jennifer Granholm. She's Canadian, and in my opinion, an EXCELLENT governor. I'm not saying she'd even come close to being appointed president, but she's a good example of someone who would be much better than many natural-born candidates. I'm torn as to whether or not I think it's a good idea. On one hand we could get someone like "The Gropernator", but other than him, our country couldn't do much worse than Bush, short of appointing Satan himself (unless they get Limbaugh or Billy Graham)

8. Someone on DU made a suggestion.
The minimum age to be president is 35. They suggested that one could be eligible to be president if one had been a naturalized citizen and resident of the US for a minimum of 35 years.

That's worth discussing, I think.

Ahnold is the one who is in the sites of those who want this amendment though, I believe.

I am convinced he won the CA recall by fraudulent election counts. He campaigned as sort of an outsider, and not so socially conservative, but he has cut social services ruthlessly. And, I don't know, personally, why any woman would vote for him. His behavior reveals a person who does not respect half the human race. (Probably more, but at a minimum.)

9. indeed
it's defenitely something that should be talked about. I haven't examined the "Ahnold" case a whole lot, except that I knew about all the Enron plundering a while ago. And I do know he's cut a lot from social services, and so this strikes me as just another "face-saving" tactic, that might not keep him out of the frying pan, but at least keep him out of the fire.

6. Political realities aside, Murdoch would be 77 in 2008 as it is
so he's not a realistic candidate in any case
