2. Posting A Link
Is as easy as pasting the address right here in the Message field. The DU system detects the http or the www and converts it. If that won't work for you, describe the click sequence by which you arrived at the site. I, for one, am dying to examine the Conyers blog.

4. JC Jr., complete with a Heman Hesse quote! I love this guy!!
2/16/2005 3:46p

A New Way To Communicate

"Everything Becomes a Little Different As Soon As It Is Spoken Out Loud" -- Herman Hesse

In these past months, I have become convinced of the power of the blog. When the election of 2004 left the Democratic process unfulfilled and American citizens unsatisfied, it was the buzz of the internet that caught our attention and focused the debate. When we gathered in Ohio to challenge voting irregularities and blatant partisan interference, your willingness to discuss online what all too few in the mainstream media were willing to dispute helped to raise awareness of an issue that is vital to the democratic process. As we press the Congrss to consider fair and comprehensive election reform, the internet dialogue continues to shape policy on Capitol Hill.

For these reasons, I have decided to launch this, my official blog, in the hopes of keeping you informed and involved in the policy issues and interesting happenings of the day.

In these early days, we will start things fairly low-tech -- for now, this will be limited to my postings and a few links. In time, however, I hope to develop a fully interactive discussion forum here -- I want to foster candid (and civil) debate and listen carefully to what you have to say.

Until then, I hope you find this site useful, informative, and -- hopefully -- a little bit of fun.

-- J.C. (John Conyers, Jr.)

6. He is something else isn't he! BTW, how old is he? He was around during
the Nixon years, I know that much, but he doesn't look THAT old. He must of been VERY young back then.

Of course i heard on the radio that Sonny Bono would have been 70 YEARS OLD today and I about drove off the road. How is that possible! Man the years have flown by me!

you can om with if you want. But I want to make sure I include as many valid arguments for this. I know he uses it correctly in the letter, but I wrote to him about ELECTION fraud, not voter fraud and I'm pissed as hell that he slandered my words!

John Conyers is a hero. Blogging is a great way to put your thoughts together. I don't think he's busy enough these days (CLEAR THROAT)
I'm being sarcastic. :)

Waiting for the impeachment while the scandals KEEP unfolding.

12. Yayyyy!!!
My first thought was, oh boy, we'll be able to nag him about the EAC and get his take on what's going on with it, but I see it is "read only". Fair enough, and a good start!

He is the coolest! There must be somethin' special 'bout that place to have spawned both him and Marshall Mathers.

Did you hear of their "hearing" in Ohio about provisional voting, presided over by some of the biggest crooks on the scene:

Gannon Gate

While the Gannon scandal breaks into the maainstream media this weekend, the story behind the story -- why the story was intitially ignored -- is beginning to be examined, not just in the blogosphere, but in the international press. As this story continues to develop, it is worth examining this question, and the additional question of whether the liberal blogosphere successfully shamed the mainstream media into doing their jobs. If this is the case, are we finally developing a progresssive media to counter the right wing noise machine?

I'm in love! :loveya:

36. This is how we change history
Conyers rules, no doubt. The real power lies in us, the motivated people that have decided to play an active role in our own future. We are not going to let the corporate media whores cover for this administration and push the news under the rug.

We have a voice, and it grows stronger every day.
