4. I know Ahmanson is notorious around here in SoCal for ..
funding Issa, who, in turn, funded the Gov. Davis recall (we were then saddled with the Governator, Karl Rove's friend).

But why are Bob and Todd Urosevitch (or whatever) important?

Just need help making the connection.

15. Best place to verify the connections is through Factiva
Edited on Tue Feb-22-05 12:37 AM by bailey77
It is a subscription database available in many libraries. Lexis-Nexis is also helpful.

Harris broke the Ahmanson, the Hagel, and the Urosevich stories, and all were pieced together from a series of Factiva.com news searches (back then, in 2002, it was called DJInteractive).

The easiest way to go about it is to put in the search term and then have it sort from oldest to newest. Be aware that the Omaha World-Herald seems to be purging some of these articles, so grab them while you still can.

13. Howard F. Ahmanson is a cousin of the voting machine funders
William and Robert Ahmanson were the funders of AIS, beginning in 1984 and until 1987. This story was broken by Bev Harris in October 2002, and in the cease & desist letter she received from ES&S on Oct. 23, 2002, it specified that the Ahmansons were no longer involved and had sold their shares in 1987.

William and Robert funded moderate endeavors and the arts. Howard F. Ahmanson, a cousin, is the radical one. No one has yet tied Howard to the voting machine company except through his cousins, William and Robert.

There is one reference to a Robert Ahmanson in connection with Howard, but it turns out to be a typo, and references Howard's wife, Roberta.

Todd Urosevich and Bob Urosevich founded Data Mark Systems, which became American Information Systems (AIS); they sought funding from William and Robert Ahmanson in 1984. The Ahmansons sold their shares in 1987 to the Omaha World-Herald and the McCarthy Group. In 1997, AIS purchased Business Records Corp (BRC) and changed its name to Election Systems & Software.

Todd Urosevich is still with ES&S; Bob Urosevich left in 1994, his position was taken by Chuck Hagel, whose campaign finance manager, Michael McCarthy of the McCarthy Group, was an owner. Bob Urosevich founded I-Mark Systems, which is still found in Diebold source code as an originator of some of the code.

I-Mark Systems was merged or purchased by Global Election Systems in 1996, and Bob Urosevich eventually became the CEO there. When Diebold bought Global Election Systems in January 2003, Bob Urosevich became the president of Diebold Election Systems, until he was canned in July of 2004 following a devastating dumpster dive by Black Box Voting investigator Kathleen Wynne.

For a period of seven years, the Urosevich brothers controlled up to 80 percent of the elections in the U.S.

Like it or not, it was Bev Harris who broke the story of the Urosevich brothers as well, documenting the relationship in a story on October 10, 2002.

Landes and Harris collaborated on research quite a bit in 2002 and early 2003. Landes identified the relationship of the Rales brothers (corporate raiders) to voting systems, and also did original and outstanding work documenting conflict of interest with the SAIC. It was Landes who researched and broke the story of Avi Rubin's conflict of interest with VoteHere, a story picked up in the national press. She continues to make news, most recently by filing a federal case against voting machines.

Best,

Erin

18. NYT article on Ahmanson
The New York Times, May 22, 2004 pA1(L) col 05 (38 col in)
Conservative Group Amplifies Voice of Protestant Orthodoxy. (National Desk) Laurie Goodstein; David D. Kirkpatrick.
Full Text: COPYRIGHT 2004 The New York Times Company

As Presbyterians prepare to gather for their General Assembly in Richmond, Va., next month, a band of determined conservatives is advancing a plan to split the church along liberal and orthodox
<Snip>

the Institute on Religion and Democracy, a small organization based in Washington, has helped incubate traditionalist insurrections against the liberal politics of the denomination's leaders.

With financing from a handful of conservative donors, including the Scaife family foundations, the Bradley and Olin Foundations and Howard and Roberta Ahmanson's Fieldstead & Company, the 23-year-old institute is now playing a pivotal role
<snip>

For their part, the institute and its allies say they are saving the denominations from themselves by agitating for a return to biblical orthodoxy.

<snip>
Mrs. Knippers and Mrs. Ahmanson noted that the impetus for the founding of the institute came from a labor union activist, not right-wing financiers. Mrs. Knippers said the initial idea came from David Jessup, a staunchly anti-Communist union activist and Methodist who objected to church aid to Vietnam and Nicaragua under their leftist regimes.

The Rev. Richard John Neuhaus, a Roman Catholic priest and former Lutheran minister, wrote its founding statement, and other neoconservatives joined an advisory board. (In addition to Father Neuhaus, the institute's board of directors currently includes Mary Ellen Bork, wife of Judge Robert H. Bork; Fred Barnes of the Weekly Standard and Fox News; and Michael Novak of the American Enterprise Institute.)

Ms. Knippers, who spoke during two interviews in the last three months, said that during the 1980's the institute's initial budget of about $300,000 came from a few conservative foundations, including the Scaife family foundations, the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation and the John M. Olin Foundation, as well as from the Ahmansons' philanthropic arm, Fieldstead & Company.

Some conservative foundations said they supported the institute as a broader effort to build a conservative infrastructure in many fields after decades of liberal ascendancy had shut out the right.

James Piereson, executive director of the Olin Foundation,
<snip>

Mrs. Ahmanson, who is Presbyterian, said she and her husband, who is Episcopalian, were motivated mainly by theological concerns. ''My husband and I are what we call classical Christians,'' Mrs. Ahmanson said, explaining their view that Christians should stick to the fifth century St. Vincent of Lerins's orthodox standard of ''what has been held everywhere in every time by everyone.'' She added, ''It is only in the last hundred years or so that there has been an elite, if you will, who have argued with that.''

21. Howard Ahmanson was a Board Member of the Chalcedon Foundation
The Chalcedon Foundation is a Christian Reconstructionist Group
True believers in many Christian Extremist Reconstructionist
tenets. They believe in strict adherence to Early Biblical
Punishments, always involving Death to anything and everything
different than their beliefs. Like homosexuals and many other things.
See the YuricaReport on Dominionism

http://www.yuricareport.com/Dominionism/TheDespoilingOfAmerica.htm

In 1986, Pat Robertson, on the 700 Club said that the Religious
Right should control the Electronic Voting Equipment.
In 1986, Howard Ahmanson put up the Seed money for the ES&S precursor.
If it wasn't for the Ahmanson Money, the Chalcedon Foundation would be just another loon wacked out Religious Extremist Kool Aid Kult.
With the Ahmanson ( Home Savings and Loan inheritance ) money, they have grown into an Evil Monster impacting America.

32. I know this one runs real deep.
Howard J. Ahmanson is supposed to be the actual son of Howard F. Ahmanson who owns the coalition of voting companies.

He Ahmanson is a senior executive in the highest cult network in the world, Council for National Policy/Fellowship Family house of Arlington Viriginia.

That guy has been involved in every religious circle you can name, making the reports of Wayne Madsen and others that much more serious. They had to have known right from the start how to fraud the constitution.
