Okay, the mugs....with the floatie hearts, I'd like one too!

I'm in bed bored with the head cold from hell, Advil Cold and Sinus and sipping Merlot (works better than robitussion, I should do a study, but it would piss off the pharmas!)...and my laptop. Oh yeah, and watching As Good As It Gets for the umteenth time on TBS. VERY LIBERAL movie, doncha think? Slamming HMO's, male chauvenism, mental health and intolerance (towards gays)...great movie!

In anticipation of our KO Group, I've been playing with Google and Yahoo looking for all things KEEF. Wow. I'll save the links for our more private forum, but the highlights....

---->Anti-Keith websites? This is good right? Somebody's worried, heh.

---->MSNBC doesn't reach as many markets as Fox and CNN, hence, the lower ratings.

---->Keef blows the comp away at the EST midnight re-showing.

---->Jon Stewart's Daily Show has higher ratings than ALL the Fox,CNN and MSNBC shows *combined*. This is not good news for BushCo, eh?

----> I hope ABC is paying attention....Keith and Countdown would make a great replacement for Ted Koppel and Nightline?

8. Hey dmor....ratings meanings seem to depend on

what websites you read? Ahhh, the power of the "internets".

Last one I checked, that had a neutral position, Tweety's slightly ahead of Keith, and Scarborough is slightly behind. Though the stats change dramatically when cable re-runs their primetime newsies around midnight (EST). Keith kicks ASS.

MSNBC is also in alot less cable markete as Faux and CNN, but has higher ratings in the preferred demographics, aka,those who spend money!

behind Matthews & Imus (WTF?) but he had the best ratings overall in the 25-54 demo. That's a very important demo.

has rating numbers up every week. That's the only site I've seen who does this.

34. Yeah TV Newser will post them but he only usually gets them if

someone at the networks pass them to him, he does not subscribe to Nielsen. But he did have the entire January 2005 ratings up the first of this month and that's where I got my info from. You have to watch his site carefully--he loves Fox to death and seldom says a critical word about it. He also allows Fox officials to crack anonymously, on MSNBC & CNN. He really does not seem to like KO too much at all.

...harder to fire him. What we have right now is Third Best on CN/MS- NBC, but still ahead of Miller...oy...he's being trampled by O'Reilly, King and Hannity.

You're saying you believe there's more anti-KO stuff out there than PRO?

I've spent hours at a time typing Olbermann in combination with other words into search engines, and I'm happy to report that, on balance -- and leaving out the message boards -- Keith comes out looking like he can bathe your baby, remove your appendix and compute your taxes while walking on water.

The phrase "The great Keith Olbermann" rolls off writers' keyboards so naturally and so often, I'm surprised it's not a familiar acronym by now:

Seriously, I mainly use Google -- but the key to getting obscure articles is pairing his name with other words, and then looking at all the weird and interesting stuff that comes up. I wish I could think of some examples but I'm drawing a blank; inspirations come to me usually at 3 in the morning, when I'm on the system and my husband is blissfully sawing it off next door!

I skip the anti-Olbermann sites because the things they say amount to what you could call *anti*-fanfic. In otherwords, the writers are not fans, but they're still creating fictional situations for KO to star in. ;-) (Sometimes they're good places to verify a date when a show was on or who the guest was, but that's about all.)

I couldn't believe KO's brave and effectively SOLO coverage of the post-election crisis wasn't worthy of some recognition -- or the fact that he's considered by many to be the best newswriter, bar none; so why no nominations for writing???? How are you this fine Saturday night?

You will be pleased to note that I am sore and tired and have dropped nine pounds in a week.
I painted my living room a very pale green with white trim, rearranged my furniture and still have to paint the dining room tomorrow. I was tired and exhausted.
I have been on a sort-of diet because I went to the doctor (for the knee) and was not happy with my poundage, even though my jeans are still a size 5 (7 in some cases).
So, I got on the scales tonight while my tummy was screaming for food and noted I had dropped a ton o' weigh (I'm guessing four or five pounds is probably water), so I ate some Taco Hell for dinner as a treat! LOL (Yes, I love their taco salads, it's a weakness).

Now, I'm doing laundry.

Happy Sunday! It's sunny and gorgeous here in eastern MA, though snow is expected tomorrow. Time to shut off the computer and get outside. There is an amazing opportunity which I plan to take advantage of - over at Wellesley College a group of Tibetan nuns is in the process of making a mandala of compassion - they'll disperse it into the lake on Tuesday. A friend told me about it and said the feeling of peace and love in that room is amazing. Sounds good to me! For anyone who lives anywhere near, here's a description of the event:

I need someone who can make a .jpg from some wording for a bumper sticker. I have the slogan in Word.
I figure we can all get one, paste it on our cars and doors and get the word out about Keith. Every liberal to left-leaning moderate whom I've told of his show has ended up watching it and LOVING it because it's no holds barred. These folks are TIRED of the pablum being served by the regular MSM.
I figure if people just KNEW about Keith, they'd watch in record numbers. Who wants to hear Nancy Grace spout off about some "slimy murderer" (when he's not been judged by a jury, yet, no less) anyway? :puke:

Basically, I shyed away from using anything that said "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" for trademark infringements, but a sweet bumper sticker might make the more liberal and left-leaning in your community - who will be fed up with Faux News and KNOW what the "Faux News" in this refers too and may be compelled to flip the channel.

I love the bumper sticker idea and agree with Clark's concerns about trademark infringement, but I wonder if KO would be more comfortable if the attention were focused more on the product (his show) rather than himself, given the way he skewers O'Reilly for having a big head. He seems to shy away from the whole celebrity trip, which is actually kind of endearing.

Maybe Clark's bumper sticker will make MSNBC realize that some bumper stickers and mugs of their own might not be a Bad Thing to do. Good on you, Clark!!
