Some people here want me to go away.
Some people want me to address their objections to my posts.
Some people seem to enjoy debating with me.
It's been a roller coaster for me, DU. I came because someone linked to my paper, and I wanted to join the debate. I left it several times, and came back, for better or worse. But it is time I left for good. I think your country needs this forum, and God knows, I think your country needs electoral reform.
I've learned a lot from the debate - some of what I've learned has made me sad - some has been really useful. And I've made a few friends.
So here are my thanks:
Thanks for having me. Thanks to Melissa G and Carolab for listening to me, and responding to my PMs.
Thanks to TIA and Tommcintyre for at least giving me credit for good intentions, even if they are convinced that I am in denial, and subject to cognitive dissonance.
Thanks to Autorank for Conyers's smile, brief though it was.
Thanks to Time for Change for challenging the statistics head on, for posting Bruce O'Dell's message, even though he disagreed with it, and even though he was criticised for it.
Thanks to all of those who PMd me with support.
Thanks to all those who PMd me to try to persuade me of my folly.
And thanks to the posters who I won't thank by name, in case it tars their reputation with mine, who supported me in the online debates. It was really appreciated.
If anyone has any questions, comments, or things they want me to address, please PM me. I will try to respond. But I won't respond on threads - I'll leave those to you to kick if you want.
And good luck. I would never have got involved in this debate if I didn't truly believe that you deserve a better electoral system - and a better president - than you have.
Lizzie
