A Curious Wrinkle... Who On Earth Is Christian Bailey (Shades Of Madsen)
According to Washpost
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/06/10/AR2005061001910_pf.html

"The Pentagon awarded three contracts this week, potentially worth up to $300 million over five years, to companies it hopes will inject more creativity into its psychological operations efforts to improve foreign public opinion about the United States, particularly the military. He said SYColeman Inc. of Arlington, Lincoln Group of the District, and Science Applications International Corp. will help develop ideas and prototypes for radio and television spots, documentaries, or even text messages, pop-up ads on the Internet, podcasting, billboards or novelty items."

Christian Bailey
Executive Vice President, Lincoln Group

Turns out this same Christian Bailey is on the board of directors and is New York City co-chair of an organization called "Lead 21," which according to its own web site ...

Since its inception in Fall 2001, Lead21 has been doing its part to cultivate the next generation of business leaders committed to building a dynamic future for the Republican Party. Lead21 has always prided itself as an organization built by dreamers, doers, and difference-makers. We created a thriving community of emerging Republican entrepreneurs and professionals in the blue state capitals of New York City and San Francisco. As we matured as an organization, Lead21 broadened its focus toward deployment of its members to make a lasting impact on election outcomes.

The sweeping GOP victories in Election 2004 have unleashed a sense of optimism for the future of the Republican Party. We at Lead21 are proud of the part we played in support of the 2004 GOP Victory.

... snip...

I've been saying all along that the Iraq War is the mother of all money-laundering schemes, and that at least some dollars being paid to defense contractors are being recycled back into Republican Party war chests. But this looks even better. It appears that money is coming out of the Pentagon budget and going directly to the propaganda machine. And I don't for a minute think that propaganda is aimed primarily at Iraqis, or even that expenditure is limited to propaganda.

What was that again about "deployment" and "election outcomes"?

(note... I have posted the blog entry on scoop too... http://scoop.co.nz/stories/HL0506/S00190.htm)

WTF Indeed!!!

3. Yes... is a bit cryptic... I was referring to the reference...
.. to the deployment of forces and election outcomes remark... Madsen wrote that big series about the cheque and the offshore banks etc... here demonstrated is a far easier way to funnel funds to potential election hackers. Just get the pentagon to write em a cheque... Bailey's company as the report linked says has received $6 million for PR services in Iraq plus another $12 million. If you are passing around bucks like that to GOP operatives I bet you can buy all sorts of services.

6. Huh? They have to do trillion dollar studies to figure this out?
"psychological operations efforts to improve foreign public opinion about the United States"

How about not lying, cheating, stealing, torturing, abusing, dissing, etc. etc., to improve foreign public opinion? And, since they don't yet control the foreign media, this approach ain't gonna work anyway. It works here cuz they control the media.

14. Good lord... I figured that SAIC was getting the lions share of this...
Thanks for that..

This really is money laundering: "indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, with a potential maximum value of $100,000,000"

That would have to be the PR contract to die for :)

WTF!

15. "We're going to lie about things."
Media Advisory

The Return of PSYOPS
Military's media manipulation demands more investigation

12/3/04

The Los Angeles Times revealed this week (12/1/04) that the U.S. military lied to CNN in the course of executing psychological warfare operations , or PSYOPS, in advance of the recent attack on Fallujah. This incident raises serious questions about government disinformation and journalistic credibility, but recent discussions of the government's propaganda plans have excluded some valuable context.

In an October 14 on-air interview, Marine Lt. Lyle Gilbert told CNN Pentagon reporter Jamie McIntyre that a U.S. military assault on Fallujah had begun. In fact, the offensive would not actually begin for another three weeks. The goal of the psychological operation, according to the Times , was to deceive Iraqi insurgents into revealing what they would do in the event of an actual offensive.

This operation raises obvious questions about the government's use of media to broadcast disinformation at home and abroad-- not to mention questions about journalistic gullibility and reluctance to question official claims . But the CNN story has received little pick-up so far from other news outlets-- and when it is covered, it's treated like an isolated episode, even though recent history shows that U.S. government plans to deceive journalists and the public are widespread and systematic, not aberrational.

Shortly before the launch of the "war on terror," an unnamed Pentagon war planner seemed to warn journalists everywhere when he told Washington Post reporter Howard Kurtz: "This is the most information-intensive war you can imagine... We're going to lie about things." (9/24/01)

US: Military Contractor, Reviewer Used Same Lobbyist
by Ovetta Wiggins, Washington Post
September 28th, 2003

Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. (R) has asked state investigators to look into the opposite interests of a well-known Annapolis lobbyist who represents two companies involved in the overhaul of the state's voting machine system.
Ehrlich requested the inquiry last week after learning that Gilbert J. Genn, a former Montgomery County delegate, is registered as a lobbyist for Diebold Election Systems Inc., the company that has a $ 55 million contract to provide the state with its electronic voting system, and Science Applications International Corp., the computer security company the state recently hired to examine the Diebold voting machines for flaws.

11. OK, so let me make sure I understand this.
We go around invading countries, killing their people, devastating their plant and infrastructure, disrupting their lives in ways none of us could ever imagine and then these folks are supposed to make some commercials, FOR WHAT.

Citizen of a foreign land after seeing a US sponsored commercial:

"Wow, you know, I was really upset that my brother was killed, my family members maimed, and my business trashed, I mean really upset. Then I saw the commercial from those great beltway bandits and it changed my mind. Now none of this real-world experience matters at all! I'm headed for McDonalds!"

I hope these guys don't start handing out whatever they're smoking. That could be dangerous for us all.

12. I was thinking along these lines as to Bush Cartel election systems:
Take $4+ billion from the taxpayers.

Call it money to fix the problems in the 2000 election--hanging chads and all that (Help America Vote Act).

Get all your buddies, major donors and campaign chairmen who do ATM machines to whip up some shoddy, insecure, hackable, fraud-prone, and very expensive electronic voting machines, run on secret, proprietary programming code with no paper trail...

Fail to include any safeguards in the bill: no requirements for paper trail or ballot backup, public officials cannot review the programming code, no ban on internal modems or wireless, free access by private company personnel to the machines which require expensive "servicing" (long term) that only company techs can do, no ban on partisan ownership and control of voting systems--all major Bush donors and campaign chairmen with electronic firms may apply...

Funnel the $4 billion to the states...

Underfund the federal monitoring commission (EAC)...

Let your buddies go on a lobbying spree, sprinkling goodies and future jobs among state and county election officials...

All the contracts go to your donor buddies, who force the states to sign contracts giving up their right to review how votes are counted, and agreeing to defend the "trade secrets" of your buddies' secret voting counting machines...

And so the $4+ billion in taxpayers money, plus some big contributions from state taxpayers, end up in your buddies' pockets...

...who then contribute some of it back to you, in $100,000 Bush "Pioneer" chunks...

...and they guarantee your "election" and that of all your chosen "pod people" (whose power as "elected" officials will be used to secure and expand your control over elections).

A nice neat election fraud scheme, with all the financial corners perfectly sewn up.

Boy, have we been had!

-------

I think this Lincoln Group and Christian Bailey are prime candidates for investigation.
