Protests at DLC announced -- any other protests?
Are there any other protests being held at the DLC national convention in Columbus, Ohio on July 23, 24, 25?

there is one protest listed on the Ohio Honest Elections Campaign website

www.ohiohonestelections.org

note the second paragraph

Tuesday, June 28, 2005
“A cavalcade of Democratic stars, headlined by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, of New York, is slated to attend the Democratic Leadership Council’s national convention July 25 in Columbus. Others scheduled to attend include Sens. Evan Bayh of Indiana and Tom Carper of Delaware; Virginia Gov. Mark Warner; Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack; and Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, daughter of former Ohio Gov. John J. Gilligan. The gathering of hundreds of centrist Democrats for the council’s annual “National Conversation” will feature many of the party’s bestknown figures and rising stars. It could turn into a 2008 presidential preening parade in arguably the most-important state.”

The Spine Project will also be there to protest DLC’s appeasement policies as well as the recent DNC report on the Ohio 2004 election. Check the Spine Project page for more information on this important protest.

2. They have a lot of nerve...
"It could turn into a 2008 presidential preening parade **in arguably the most-important state.** (emphasis added)

--that is, the state that they all walked away from on 11/3/04; the state whose voters they don't give a flying...I won't be obscene...about; the state that witnessed the most egregious violations of the Voting Rights Act ever committed, that Democratic Party leaders ignored, minimized, failed to stop, and failed to protest; the home of Wally O'Dell, head of one of two Bushite electronic voting machine companies that counted all our votes using secret, proprietary software--that these Democratic leaders couldn't be bothered to notice, let alone warn us about; the state that they collected our money for, on election night, to fight the legal battle--money we never saw again.

The state where the grass roots showed up, and the DLC and the DNC didn't.

The state where our hearts were broken.

The state where their hatred of the grass roots, and their collusion with Bush on the Iraq war became very apparent.

Really, this is as disgusting as the Democratic election officials feasting with Diebold, ES&S and Sequoia at the Beverly Hilton the week of August 9. See

These people have lost me. And, goddammit, THEY were responsible for the outsourcing of tens of thousands of jobs, not Bush. Clinton and the DLC.

Anyone who feels the need to pander to this crowd should be struck off the list.

Trying to line up speakers for a rally to precede the meeting.

Details to be announced, watch the post above for details.

P.S. Ummmmmm if the DLC really cared about democracy..........wouldn't they attend events such as the Hocking County rally?

4. I agree Peace Patriot.
The god damn Clinton administration and these fake democrats fucked over everything long before Bush could even screw it all up even worse. I am so sick and tired of these people. They don't give a damn about voting rights. I can't believe Kerry joined these people.

It's sick and disgusting, people's civil rights are at stake including thousands upon thousands of african americans. They barely even give a shit, Barbara Boxer is the only one who does. :puke: :puke: :puke:

By the way, why doesn't Howard Dean and everyone organize a protest in Ohio? The bigger the protest the better.
