When I saw Bev Harris at the Sacramento Diebold/ESS hearing, I did not know the full story. Only after reading the 'Stalking of Andy' did I come to realize what the history was. The expert that testified for them seemed credible, if not perfectly understandable. Jim March seemed a bit wild-looking and somewhat inarticulate to be a leader in the vote reform movement. In fact, the most moving testimony came from regular-looking citizens unallied with any of the reform groups. I was one of the people ready to rush the stage when Wood called security on Bev's investigator (Kathleen Wynne), but truth be told, she had not lined up with the other expert witnesses early in the day. As I was leaving the Secretary of State's office, Bev and Jim were hanging around outside. I called out to Bev: "Hey, Bev! I sent you money!" in a friendly fashion, and she looked startled and oddly disturbed by this. Now, I kinda know why. I wish we had more high-profile integrity at the top of this. It is sad that the DNC and other prominent Democrats are so distant from this issue. Most of the really intelligent and well-read people I know accept election fraud as fact, but are battling the despair I think all of us have experienced. We're not used to the United States being made a fascist theocracy by nefarious means -- and it takes time and trauma to grow Abbie Hoffmans. (Is that a bad example? Not to me.) The voices I hear in this forum are the clearest and most intelligent of all. The new Crisis Papers on the front page today is powerful and relevant to this issue. The Democratic Underground has become utterly important to the future of this nation. But -- No American has ever faced this reality, not in all of history. For all precedents that could be cited, the links fail in the face of both scope and nature of this beast. Bev Harris seems to be a bad egg, and yet she also seems to be the nominal face. Let's hope time heals this one, somehow. Anybody have a central link for the 'story' of BBV? I'm still fuzzy on certain things.
