In yet another surreal twist in Ohio’s “coin-gate” scandal, the wife of Bush’s chief Ohio fundraiser, Tom Noe—who is currently embroiled in campaign finance and money laundering probes—surprised poll workers and observers alike by disrupting the ballot count during the 2004 general election, RAW STORY has discovered.

Bernadette Noe, who served dual roles as chairman for the Lucas County Republican Party and the Lucas County Board of Elections, sent twelve “partisans” into a warehouse on Election Day, according a memo authored by Ohio’s Director of Campaign Finance Richard Weghorst who was present at the time...

1. Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to the '04

election debacle. Now, I want to see some action by someone... some body/department/council/tribunal, whatever you want to call it.

But that won't happen until after '08 or impeachment of this administration, whichever comes first.

The thing that makes me :puke: is that no one seems to care enough or has enough balls to do anything about this administration and their crimes.

A-fucking-men. I just said this to someone on-line not two minutes ago. If we could accomplish a cajones transplant from some of the hard working election reformers (both men and women) on this forum for our faux leadership in DC, the country and the planet might have a chance.

As it is, tampering with votes now appears to extend to the floor of the House of Representatives (re: CAFTA). I can only hope that the United Nations refuses to accept Bolton as our ambassador (which they evidently have the power to do). If anyone has an email address for the appropriate UN office to make this request, please post it or PM me with it. (The Secretariat, I presume?) If I get the correct address, I will post a thread on this topic, and encourage all of us to email the UN and copy the message to our representatives (not).

4. Not true, while most do nothing, there is a small determined group of

activists fight to get the truth out. We may be unpaid and ridiculed, but our determination in the face of adversity will win in the long run. Just look how much info has surfaced since the election, NO THANKS TO THE DNC AND THEIR BIG WAR CHEST!

My quotation in the post above is from the post above it. I do believe there are people working hard (and effectively) to accomplish election reform, but it isn't our highly visible leaders (with the exception of Conyers and a handful more.) It is folks like you and me and others here.

To paraphrase: "Be the election reformers. Someone has to."

5. I think right now

the only chance at anything happening will be at the local level in Ohio. I wouldn't count on anything other wise unless we really can become the majority again in both the House and Senate next year. I have always strongly believed when I first found out about this story that they were both connected. Uncover one and I think you'd uncover the other.

SNIP........ Ms. Noe was an advocate of Diebold’s optical scan software as chair of the Lucas County Board of Elections. In April 2004, she and another fellow Republican board member voted to approve a $350,000 contract with Diebold to lease machines for the election. The county was forced the lease the equipment after a deadlock and a rebuke from Blackwell.
