RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman’s Letter In Response To Voter Fraud Report By The American Center For Voting Rights
Contact: Tracey Schmitt
202-863-8614

WASHINGTON – The following is a letter sent from RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman to Mr. Brian Lunde and Mr. Mark Hearne of the American Center for Voting Rights in response to their report on voter fraud entitled: “Vote Fraud, Intimidation & Suppression In The 2004 Presidential Election.”

August 9, 2005

Brian A. Lunde
Mark F. Hearne
American Center for Voting Rights Legislative Fund
1300 Eye St NW
Washington, DC 20005

Dear Mr. Lunde and Mr. Hearne:

Thank you for sending me a copy of your report “Vote Fraud, Intimidation & Suppression In The 2004 Presidential Election.” I received and examined the report last week, and I agree with you that it is vitally important that our election system be free from fraud and intimidation. When the American people walk into voting booths, they deserve to be confident in the integrity of the system.

As your report documents, this is unfortunately not always the case. And while I believe that the instances of fraud you have revealed are the exception, not the rule, that does not mean that we should accept them – and we will not.

I strongly support your proposal of a zero-tolerance policy toward election fraud and intimidation, and I would encourage Chairman Dean and the Democrat Party to do the same. The position of the Republican National Committee is simple: we will not tolerate fraud; we will not tolerate intimidation; we will not tolerate suppression. No employee, associate, or any person representing the Republican Party who engages in these kinds of acts will remain in that position. Republicans do not need to resort to fraud and intimidation to win, and no Republican who does deserves victory.

Last week marked the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Voting Rights Act. That landmark legislation made a statement of principle: the right to vote belongs to all of us, and no one has the right to take it away or dilute it by intimidation, fraud or suppression. The Republican Party will not rest until this principle is upheld.

Sincerely,

Ken Mehlman
Chairman, Republican National Committee

One problem though, it looks like Mr. Mehlman forgot to mention the fact that they can still "easily hack into the tabulators, and change the results". None of that bad behavior is looked down upon by his friends and colleagues. :P :spank:

3. Thanks for posting this letter. It will come in handy ...
... when we set up a meeting next week with the Chairman of the TN Republican Party to get them behind our voter-verified paper ballot and mandatory random manual recount initiatives here in the Orange State.

This letter looks like just the pitard that I need to hoist our state Republicans up on to get them behind what should be a nonpartisan effort for free, fair and verifiable elections here in Tennessee.

Thanks, Ken, this couldn't have come at a better time.

7. But but but!!
It gets better, all those engaging in such activity, will not be affiliated with the republican party but can be Diebold employees instead taking their position over. :spank:

BTW, "Hey, LaLa!!"

I hope you're going to the Portland conference in late September, so I can tell you face-to-face how much I have admired your work.

10. awww, thanks...
Have not heard a thing about any conference in Portland. I am supposed to go to DC in September, but who knows. You can tell me whatever your thoughts are via email or chat:) But thank you ever so much.

And yes, perhaps the Thor map should be redistributed so that Kenny boy can take a good look.

12. According to Mr. Mehlman......
George Bush didn't deserve to win, because they stole the election through fraud.

Soo I guess that means Bush should not remain in his position and must be immediately impeached!

Oh Mehlman forgot to say one thing, he meant the republicans who are really democrats may be removed. It doesn't matter if the REAL republicans steal elections....

13. Mehlman's strategy is really "projectoin"...

That's when you "project" your own failings onto another person and criticize them. It's a form of self-loathing.

Maybe this could be *'s reason to resign.

A Sad Scene in the White House

Wash, DC (2/19/05) "Overwhelmed with self-loathing, President * announced to day he was resigning as President of the United States. He admitted that many of the failings he'd accused the Democrats of were actually character flaws that he possessed. "The public shame is just too much," he said, "I can't even go to a mixed crows or a real city because I know just about everyone in the crowd will know what a schmuck I am." His loyal campaign chairman, Ken Mehlman wept openly as his eye liner dripped down his cheeks. It was an extraordinary scene in the home of the "leader of the free world."
