RICHMOND - Virginia has been a tried and true friend to President Bush, but a new poll shows the Republican president is
losing the confidence of one of his best buddies.

Only 42 percent of likely voters rate Bush’s job performance as “excellent” or “good,” according to a state poll of likely voters conducted by
Mason-Dixon Polling & Research, based in Washington .

3. Good, let's hope it carries over to this year's gov race
We need to hold Warner's seat. Kaine has been trailing in the polls all year but it's tightened and the independent Potts is apparently pulling support from the Republican candidate Kilgore. Virginia is moving slowly our way on the partisan index, perhaps two points every four years.

4. Thanks. We in the Commonwealth want this to benefit Tim Kaine, D
who is running to replace Warner. He's running against a religious right conservative, the A.G., who has good name recognition but not much is known about him. Thus Kaine, the Lt. Gov., who is not as widely recognized, is in a dead heat with Kaine now. Kilgore, the R, polls ahead of Bush, for now. Kaine is awesome and Warner's approval in VA is at 70% (seventy).

Watch VA. Gore only lost by 4% 52-48. Kerry lost by more but Fairfax, a Kerry strong hold, has documented voting machine problems which BOTH Republicans and Democrats have complained about.

Thanks for the post. Makes me realize Ihave to finish phone banking!

:argh:
