Ion Sancho needs our help!! Florida officials are attacking this courageous Supervisor of Elections for trying to protect the integrity of our vote. Please click on the link below to send an email to Florida officials protesting their outrageous treatment of this courageous Supervisor of Elections.

In 2005, Supervisor Sancho authorized security tests of the Diebold voting system used in Leon County, Florida. These tests definitively proved election results could be altered without detection using only a memory card. A team of California computer scientists have sinced confirmed the Leon County tests and discovered additional severe security flaws in the Diebold system.

Instead of thanking Sancho for exposing flaws that should have been discovered by state and federal certifiers, state officials are threatening Sancho with legal action, which could include removing him from office. Instead of hailing him as a national hero, state officials have condemned and threatened him. On top of that, the only three companies with Florida certified voting systems (Diebold, ES&S and Sequoia) have blacklisted Sancho and are refusing to sell their voting machines to Sancho, either in retribution for exposing serious security vulnerabilities in the Diebold voting system, or out of fear that he will find similar flaws in their systems. As a result of the Sancho now has no voting system in place

Instead of demanding that these companies sell their state-certified systems to Leon County, state officials seem more concerned about protecting the vendors than about protecting the sanctity of our vote. To read more about Sancho's actions and his current predicament, look at these articles in the Miami Herald and VoteTrustUSA.

Do not delay! Florida's Department of State is demanding a meeting with Sancho on Monday, March 13.
Click here to send the following email to let Florida officials know that we will not tolerate their treatment of Ion Sancho! Feel free to add to or edit the text provided. Please be sure to sign your name and don't forget to let them know if you're a Florida voter!

To: Florida state officials:
Jeb Bush, Governor
Sue Cobb, Florida Secretary of State
Jenny Nash, Spokesperson for the Department of State Dawn Roberts, Director of the Florida Division of Elections

Leon County Commissioners:
Bill Proctor, Chairman, Bob Rackleff, Jane Sauls, Cliff Thaell, Dan Winchester, Ed Depuy, Tony Grippa,

CC: Ion Sancho, Leon County Supervisor of Elections: ion@leoncountyfl.gov

Dear Florida and Leon County Officials:

I am writing to protest the disgraceful treatment of Ion Sancho, Leon County Supervisor of Elections by certain state and local officials. Mr. Sancho should be hailed as a national hero for having the courage and vision to conduct the kind of testing of his voting systems that should have been performed by state and federal certifiers. These tests exposed severe security vulnerabilities in Leon County's Diebold voting system, have since been duplicated and confirmed by California computer scientists, who also found additional severe flaws.

In return, the state has withdrawn Leon County’s Help America Vote Act Funds, threatened Mr. Sancho with legal action, and refused to require voting system vendors to do business with him.

It is not too late to make amends for this shameful treatment of a dedicated public servant. I urge you to:

* Support Mr. Sancho in his efforts to provide secure, verifiable, accessible voting equipment to the citizens of his county.
* Demand that voting machine vendors, who would not be doing business in the state of Florida without state certification, be required to sell voting systems to any and all Florida counties or lose their certified status.
* Return the $564,421 in Help America Vote Act funds to Leon County. %0A- Provide all Florida citizens with voting systems that provide a voter-verified paper trail.

Our nation needs secure, accessible, auditable voting systems to ensure that our democracy may not only thrive, but survive. Mr. Sancho's heroic actions are helping to accomplish that goal.

Sincerely,

Your name here

5. And an email came back undeliverable.
I sent the email and one came back. rackleffhsd@earhlink.net

It may well be a typo. (The address was in the CC: box.

Perhaps it should be...

rackleffhsd@earthlink.net

I tried to email VoteTrustUSA about it, and that email came back.

Maybe Jeb hacked them. :tinfoilhat:

15. Vote Trust fixed the link. Here:
From Vote TRust: "...the email links in the Ion Sancho letter don’t work if you’re using browser-based webmail or certain combinations of browser/email client. I’ve added to the info on the url http://www.votetrustusa.org/supportsancho.html

to explain this, and have provided the email addresses in clear text so anyone who can’t use the link can cut and paste the message into their own email and send it to those addresses."

9. VoteTrust link not working; use this
Here are all but one of the e-mail addresses you need:

proctorb@leoncountyfl.gov, saulsj@leoncountyfl.gov, danw@leoncountyfl.gov, rackleffhsd@earthlink.net, cliff@leoncountyfl.gov, grippat@leoncountyfl.gov, depuye@leoncountyfl.gov, secretaryofstate@dos.state.fl.us, jeb.bush@myflorida.com

Here is a link for an important contact form, for the Division of Elections.

And here is the VoteTrust letter:

I fixed the bad email address. Thanks for catching the typo in earthlink.net. Most of you should be able to open the email link and send it with no problem, but there seem to be a couple of browser/email client combos that won't work with the code. Just cut and paste the letter from the box on the VoteTrustUSA page into an email and send it to the addresses above if that happens.

Thanks!

18. Ion Sancho is our hero!
And to retell his story to those who haven't been following the issues is a wonderful way to explain all the complexities of all that is wrong in a easy-to-understand parable.
