Gonna Whip up some T-shirts; CONTEST TO PROVIDE DESIGN

POST YOUR IDEAS FOR T-SHIRTS/GOLF SHIRTS ON ELECTION ISSUES; Prizes listed below. (see#2)

Open until Noon EST Tuesday, unless closed earlier

Concepts can win, you need not be an Artiste, but Art can help

One color design is great, two colors is OK, three colors is possible but Pushing it. (remember the shirt is the background color, and you may take advantage of that; shirt need not necessarily be white).

STANDARDS: Should be suitable to hand out one to everyone at an election protection meeting (readily understood, broader appeal within activist community, capable of being understood by the public, likely to be worn by activists)

FINE PRINT:
1. Posting an idea on this thread constitutes entering this contest, and stating that it's your design or public domain and not copyrighted.

2. You can win your choice of $50 and a shirt, or ten shirts of your choice of sizes, if your design/words are used. Second and third place win shirts with the winning design (if they can stand it)

3. Contest is open until noon EST Tuesday, unless closed earlier by post of Land Shark due to "early winner".

4. Last place wins a signed LandShark post of the loser's choice.

When secret software counts, votes don't.

Picture: Dracula looking guy holding black cape with left arm above head halfway across face, a flat counting device on a table, a paper ribbon leading from the device in his hand. (Maybe a big S on his chest for "Secret Software."

Good luck Amaryllis. If you win with my edit, I want 25%! Or maybe just mention in your acceptance speech!

9. Picture of this guy:

Text in a circle around him; on the top, in smaller font (appropriate to vintage) it says: "I'm pretty sure..." and on the bottom, in a larger, dominant font size it says, "I Just Voted!"

Optional: in small text, straight under the circle, it continues, "Because this is America! Right? Right?"

I'll have to work on it. It seems to have a kick to it. Maybe a guy pulling a lever, and letters revolving that all end up spelling BUSH. Meanwhile, have an old photoshop I did. It's not too relevant now.

If private corporations count, do we? Or if secret software counts, do we? I like the sound of Diebold better, but would be nice not to exclude the other vendors since they have contributed so much to the cause of robbing us of democracy!

32. I'm not sure on the visual aspect
but how about depicting something along the lines of "Now you see them..." on the front and "Now you don't!" on the back? Maybe the front could depict a long line of voters at the polls and the back a very shocked man looking at a headline that says "Bush Mandate!" in large letters. Below that, "Brought to you by the magic of Diebold."

Could be just a white shirt with illustrated (rather than photographic)black images and lettering.

48. I'm talkin something along these lines for a T-shirt
a question that can't be answered by the voting machine vendors, and if they tried to answer the question, it wouldn't make sense to people who are "not" in the know about the election theft machines.

Kind of like if the t-shirt said "Why not two counts in every election machine count and a hand a count".

The vendors would have to explain why we don't need a hand count by the people (which wouldn't make sense to most people) and then they would have to explain why their count should be the only count. again (wouldn't make sense to most people).

I think it puts them between a rock and a hard place. Mind you I'm no expert on T-shirt slogans, I'm just giving an opinion.

50. All the slogans in this thread are great, but we have to get to the point
because there are a hell of a lot of these vote stealing machines that are in place throughout the country, and the one and only way to OFFSET them at this point in time "short of a massive arrest of the Cartel" is to seek two counts on election day.

Thats something that the states that have "VVPB" and "toilet paper trails" could put in place quickly.

The graphic could be a person looking puzzled or alarmed, with a DRE on the fritz -- plug frayed, coming out of the wall; screen has smoke coming out of it, a memory card hanging askew out of a slot -- or maybe looking like a Las Vegas gambling machine with rows of cherries and the like, but all askew.

53. AND, ... The WINNER is (drum roll please)........
The ACTUAL design of the shirt differs from any submission, but we have to announce the winners according to the rules, or rig the game like elections. YOU be the judge, that's the point.

The Winner (or the actual shirt design, in red and blue on a white shirt):

------------------------------------
LARGE TYPE:
------------------------------------

Verified Ballots
+
Public VOTE Counting
=
Democracy

------------------------------------
SMALLER TYPE BELOW
------------------------------------
www.verifiabledemocracy.org

Pretty soon when you go to my website address it will say both the website and a verifiable democracy are "under construction"

FIRST PLACE: (closest to that actually used) JIM DANDY

SECOND PLACE OR LAST PLACE: Mabus, Skids, acmejack, Guvwurld, simonm, mopinko, bleever, stevepol, amaryllis, gregorian, hippywife, rateyes, BeFree, kster, Zan of Texas

You will need to PM me with a mailing address if you'd like to claim a prize. The large group wins a t-shirt or a golf-type shirt with verifiabledemocracy.com on the front right upper area in small letters A(where a company name on a breast pocket might be if there were a pocket), and the full design on the back. T-shirt design is on the front, or on the front and the back.

The golf shirts are designed to be worn 24/7. : ) I suppose everyone knows t-shirts can be...

also to be posted as a separate thread, and a link to design when available as a pic...
