3. Yeah. The ACLU is becoming one of my fav organizations

Election reform, civil rights protection, stopping torture and domestic spying are all high on their list of focus areas.

edit: I've been a member for a while. I think I should become a sustaining member. Might need them personally some day.

4. One of my X-mas gifts from my DH was a membership to

the ACLU, and it was one of the best! They really shine now when the government appears so fascist.

5. Great gift! I confess I sort of took them for granted until

a year or so ago, when things started getting transparently ugly.

I was counseled by an ACLU legal rep when I was setting up a rally at the state capital a few months ago. The security office said we had to pay 3-4 state troopers over $100 an hour to provide security. The ACLU said that was patently false and took names of the security folks, presumably to write them a letter. All of my experiences with ACLU have been great.
