Election night, 2004: What's Rove doing with this bank of computers?
Add your caption here, serious or otherwise.

By the way, the woman next to him is his executive assistant, Susan Ralston, whose previous job was as Jack Abramoff's personal secretary. Remember that Rove recalled about election day that he knew the exit polls were wrong because of his own "internal" polling. Remember also that Abramoff lobbied for Diebold and has ties to the creation of HAVA, which required electronic voting with no paper trail.

So what do you think ol' Karl might be saying into his telephone?

I still don't understand this image. Al Gore was excoriated for making fund raising calls from his office. But, Karl Rove sets up a Bush campaign HQ in the White House and that's fine?

After all, the CEO of Diebold guaranteed the Republicans a win. How else could he have done that?

We need to make sure Rove's computers are non-functional in November.

11. Serious question
I'm betting that Rove was up to no good, but if he wasn't what was he doing?

Now that the dots have been connected with Abramoff, Diebold, and HAVA I especially find it hard to believe Rove is only "checking his numbers". Also, I keep thinking of J. Kenneth Blackwell and how he plays into this whole mess. Having a computer connected to the central tabulators is just too much of a coincidence.

12. Seriously, why DID he need precinct-level, real-time results?
All the campaigning and get-out-the-vote efforts were already finished or in progress.

Did he really need to be the first guy in the nation just to know how the vote came out?

It makes no sense that he set up that huge operation just to "follow" the returns.

Given this cabal's mania for using every possible advantage, is it even possible to consider that they might NOT have used their inside knowledge of the voting system they helped set up?

23. Wow! read this from link provided by Notoverit: Amazing...
Edited on Sun Apr-16-06 11:12 PM by Amaryllis
By the time election night came around, Mr Rove was in the White House, where, unusually for a political adviser, he has an office.

He set up computers in the Old Family Dining Room and started tabulating results. He had set up a massive network of contacts, not just in state capitals, but individual districts and precincts to monitor turnout and support.

Early exit polls quoted by media seemed to give Mr Kerry the edge, but colleagues said Mr Rove indicated right away that they did not tally with his information.

He used his own data to put Ohio and Florida in the Bush column - bringing cheers from the president and his family when he went into the Roosevelt Room and told them.

And when the TV networks gave either Ohio or Nevada to Mr Bush but not both - which would have led him to be declared as the winner - Mr Rove was one of the president's aides who got on the phone to news chiefs to try to pressure them to change their minds.

Try to pressure them to change their minds about announcing a conclusive outcome YET because he knew the outcome would change, or????

56. Oh, no. Although, lol, it wouldn't surprise me because of
the level of THEIR paranoia.

I won't do a foia request because it's a waste of our time. It should creep me out (but doesn't) that I just assume that anything I post or email or say on the phone or even in our home could be overheard.

The whole idea is to chill our conversations. If I don't give them that, they don't have anything.

And, it's not as though consequences aren't real to me. One of my family members was arrested and held for a year in El Salvador and probably would have been executed in an alley had he not escaped and recieved political asylum in Mexico. I understand fully what despots are capable of.

We just keep moving anyway, right? :toast:

I can probably say with all certainty, he wasn't calling to save 15% on his car insurance.

Too many irons in the fire between the vote switching, the phone jamming, coordinating the intimidation and chaos and directing Suzie and Kenny to do his bidding to say exactly which felony was occurring at this particular moment.

You just wont let this go, will ya?

I'm still waiting for my reply from that BBC reporter about the curious phrasing in that article. I'm sure she'll get back to me any day now.

Karl Rove poses for a what he knows will become a dis-info photo seized upon by paranoids who don't know shit about how elections (in general, let alone 2004) are stolen.

He's probably ordering a pizza.

If there's a valuable story here, it's Abramoff's ex-secty working with Rove.

But sure. Let's trot this photo out as a means to educate the public. Perhaps a knuckle-dragger, or two, will be impressed by the logic.
