Bush Was Never Elected
The Ministry of Homeland Security
The Official Blog of the Propaganda Remix Project

People have asked me why I didn't blog Bush's recent State of the Union. Well, to be honest, it's because I have a limited taste for lies. Not that I didn't watch the grand and boring speech, I did, but my feeling is that his lies are now so fucking obvious on the face of them that no one needed me to sit and analyze his bullshit. It's a waste of my time.

Ah, but more importantly, it's because I'm not willing to expend the energy writing about the speech of a man who has never been legitimately elected President.

See, in 2000, the Supreme Court could have ordered that every ballot in Florida be counted. Instead they pulled off a judicial coup and stole the election for Bush. Later recounts of every Florida ballot proved that if all counties had been recounted, Bush would have lost Florida by a few thousand votes.

Then, in 2004, we saw the election-rigging machine at it again in Ohio. Kenneth Blackwell, scumbag extraordinaire did everything he could to help Diebold steal the election. Robert Kennedy exposed much of this in the pages of Rolling Stone. Bush stole his re-election and the mainstream Corporate Media promptly ignored it.

1. Not only did Gore have thousands of "legal in Florida" votes not counted in 2000
Edited on Sun Jan-28-07 10:35 PM by philb
but than was after almost a hundred thousand legal minority voters were deliberantly purged without cause to make it possible for the many other vote manipulations of thousands of votes by several means, along with not counting all legal votes, allowing only Repub. counties to recount votes that count, result in a few hundred vote "official margin" for Bush- backed up by the U.S. Supreme court's ridiculous ruling overturning Florida law and a hundred years of precedence to recount(by hand) the votes in close elections.

A past Repub. U.S.Senator was elected in such a recount.

Gore's legal uncounted votes were known about, they were rejected by computers as overvotes, in counties with "Butterfly ballots" with presidential races spread to 2 pages
and the ability to vote for the same candidate twice. In Duval County(Jacksonville) there was even info sent out that encouraged the minority voters there to do just that. And thousands of minority voters lost their "legal in Florida votes because the intent of the voter was clear" in Duval and also Palm Beach counties- as well as lesser numbers in other counties. These votes were immediately known about- based on statements of those who voted on those butterfly ballots. But the legal machine successfully kept them from ever being counted- until the Media recount after the election- and even then nothing was done about it.

Note that a similar huge minority voter purge occurred in Ohio in 2004, especially in Cuhahoga County, and a huge effort to prevent minority votes from being counted also was carried out. Over 100,000 minority votes lost in this manner alone, before the other manipulations are looked at.

3. There is limited time.
All responsible patriots must push to fix this.

I have felt the lull on this issue. Urgency is carried like a torch among good people.

It's time to light the fire under the seats in the house and make sure they fix it once and for all.

Eventually, the people will get their country back.

4. Electoral College Reform would prevent "Florida"
Stating the obvious? Yes. But a more detail analysis is worth a look. Below, I revisit the 2000 presidential election. All data presented was current as of then.

In a true democracy, "one person (equals) one vote" applies. However, the misinformed and Republicans, often one-and-the-same, don't realize that ours is a republic, in which the "one person (equals) one vote" rule does not apply. In the U.S., the presidential election is determined through the electoral college. A state's electoral votes are loosely tied to its population.

State Population EV Candidate
WY 495,304 3 Bush
D.C. 572,059 3 Gore
VT 609,890 3 Gore
AK 628,933 3 Bush

FL 16,028,890 27 Bush
NY 19,004,973 31 Gore
TX 20,903,994 34 Bush
CA 33,930,798 55 Gore

Rhetorical question: Why do Republicans repeat their mantra "one person (equals) one vote" but remain resistant to electoral college reform that would reflect this refrain? Simple. 1 EV from CA carries the weight of about one-eighteen an electoral vote from WY. In other words, an EV cast from WY is 18.3 times more valuable than 1 EV cast from CA.

Here, let's reform the electoral college such that 1 EV' in WY = 1 EV' in VT = 1 EV' in TX = 1 EV' in CA, where EV' denotes the reformed EV value.

State EV' Candidate
WY 1.00 Bush
VT 1.23 Gore
TX 42.20 Bush
CA 68.50 Gore

Given the distribution of states won by each candidate (Bush 30 includes Florida, Gore 21 includes D.C.), the result produces a different electoral college outcome.

Candidate States Won EV' Recieved
Gore 21 284.73
Bush 30 284.61

Not only did Gore win the popular vote (not relevant), where "one person (equals) one vote" by more than 537,000, but he also edges Bush in a modified electoral college, where 1 EV' = 1 EV'.

5. Good point
I think it would also make fraud harder, not being among those who think the popular vote was rigged in 2004. First past the post gives fraudsters a bigger bang for their buck.

6. What the hell is going on?
Welcome to the DU, and this here ER.

That is an interesting analysis. And it shows why Chairman Dean's "50 State" plan is so important. If we roll the publicans out of power in all those little states it will make the next election even harder to steal.
