Rove admits he complained to Miers that "voter fraud cases were not being treated as a priority"
Anyone have links to these NM and WA "voter fraud" cases he's cryin' about?

White House says Rove relayed complaints about prosecutors

By Ron Hutcheson, Marisa Taylor and Margaret Talev

Mar. 11, 2007

McClatchy Newspapers

Among the complaints that Rove relayed were concerns among Republican Party officials in various jurisdictions that the Justice Department was not being aggressive in pursuing allegations of election fraud by Democrats. Such allegations by Republicans were a particular concern in New Mexico and Washington.

Rove acknowledged that he personally complained to Miers that "voter fraud cases were not being treated as a priority" by the Justice Department, Perino said. He also passed along complaints about Iglesias that he had heard going back as far as 2004.

4. there was no voter fraud
just election fraud sponsored by Republicans!
Except for the case of Mann Coulter lying about her residence.
Hard to make a case of something that is almost nonexistant.

8. OHIO, the Decider, is why this was important to Rove. Opposing SPIN.
As the Web was busy discussing Ohio purges and, after the voting, the irregularities, these truly non-existent cases would have provided headlines with the desired spin.

Oh what a web we weave, when the Web makes us deceive!

9. I assume the Washington case would be the 2004 governors race
Edited on Mon Mar-12-07 06:22 PM by Awsi Dooger
The recount win by Democrat Christine Gregoire over Dino Rossi. Big comeback victory after thousands of King County (Seattle) votes were found during the recount, and Republicans screamed fraud. Gregoire won very narrowly, something like 100 votes.

I was following two excellent Washington state political sites, one on each side, during that recount and both of them had sophisticated formulas to project the result, based on outstanding precincts. Each site had Rossi winning handily until the missing votes were recovered.

I'm sure it was legit but just think if we had been on the wrong end of that. The screaming on this board would be ongoing.

I don't know what New Mexico could have been. Maybe way back to the 2000 presidential result when Gore similarly won very narrowly after a discrepancy was corrected. It was the other state decided long after election day.
