Two Cuyahoga County Board of Elections workers have received the maximum sentence for taking illegal shortcuts in the 2004 pres recount.
Judge Peter Corrigan sentenced Jacquline Maiden and Kathleen Dreamer to 18 months in prison.

They were accused of rigging the recount to avoid extra work of a full recount.

The prosecutor claimed the two women are protecting senior election officials or board members. They denied that.

Both have been fired...

1. Too bad they didn't spill the beans on the higher ups and saved themselves some of the time.

2. They get 18 months
but we got 4 years minimum. No consideration for time served, and full restitution due upon release.

4. It appears to me that,
they thought if they gave the election reform people, an actual
court case, with an actual conviction that we would GO AWAY.

What they need to get used to, and ready for, is Paper Ballots Hand Counted, and recorded at the precinct level, by WE THE PEOPLE. :7

5. UK GUARDIAN VERSION: JUDGE THINKS A MORE WIDESPREAD CONSPIRACY!
Ohio Election Workers Sentenced

Wednesday March 14, 2007 12:16 AM

By THOMAS J. SHEERAN

Associated Press Writer

CLEVELAND (AP) - Two county election workers were sentenced Tuesday to 18 months in prison for rigging a recount of 2004 presidential election ballots so they could avoid a longer, detailed review.

Jacqueline Maiden, 60, a Cuyahoga County election coordinator who was the board's third-highest ranking employee, and ballot manager Kathleen Dreamer, 40, each were convicted of a felony count of negligent misconduct of an elections employee.

Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Peter Corrigan allowed the women to remain free on bail pending appeal, but indicated he thought there was a more widespread conspiracy among election officials.

``I can't help but feel there's more to this story,'' Corrigan said.

6. Can we get a bulletpoint rundown of election fraud to get to this judge? We can deluge
his office with our emails and faxes.

8. How can Baxter say this?
Edited on Sat Mar-17-07 12:38 AM by Contrite
"Baxter did not claim the workers' actions affected the outcome of the election - Democratic Sen. John Kerry gained 17 votes and President Bush lost six in the county's recount."

Dear God, where is the logic here? Obviously, if the recount HAD been a random selection, it may very well have indicated a discrepancy, forcing a county-wide recount, which could very well have changed the results dramatically.

Moreover, if this had been addressed at the time of the entire recount, and more of the shenanigans had been brought to light (such as the Triad tech episodes), then how in the world can anyone say that Kerry would NOT have won Ohio?
