Pay No Attention to the Private Corporations Behind Our Elections
All politics is local. Except the act of voting. Which may seem local when you go to your polling place and see your friends and neighbors and the familiar faces of your pollworkers. But the machines we vote on don’t come from the machine shop down the street. They come from large corporations such as ES&S and Premier Election Solutions (formally known as Diebold - you can run Diebold, but you can’t hide!) whose power structure runs deep.

The U.S. government has handed over the operation of our elections to private companies and by doing so have also handed over the fundamental fairness and equality of the system - without proper oversight and to the manufacturers of machines that do not even meet the same quality standards of gaming consoles, ATM machines, or lottery systems.

Want to know who is responsible for our messed up election processes? Follow the money…and the power.

1. This is somewhat true, HOWEVER...
...they cannot steal a blowout. If enough people vote, and they attempt to steal it, and those people who votes were not counted, speak out, it makes it very hard for them to justify the accuracy of their machines.

If there are enough votes for Obama in a district, and McCain wins that district, we have to follow up, with names of people, from poll watchers, and be vigilant. This is why I have said in the past, and I'll say it again, they can't steal a blowout.

4. HOWEVEST
(Or whatever you call a however on a however)

It's just as easy to alter the vote count in an electronic machine by many votes as it is to alter it by a few votes. The question is whether or not they can GET AWAY WITH stealing a blowout.

If they were going to steal a blowout, one of the things that would help is if they convinced the country to expect a close election, so that neither a win by the D or the R candidate would be seen by most as unexpected. Heard of polls that are close anywhere lately?

Another thing they'd do is steal a lot of votes by preventing people in targeted populations from CASTING those votes. Heard of that happening anywhere?

Another thing they'd do is prepare to cry "foul" if they didn't steal as many votes as it turned out they needed to steal. Have ya checked out this site?

And never forget: when the corporate media is in your pocket, deceiving the public is easily within reach.

We must act. We must prepare. If you're reading this and you're not busy ... click here.

2. Just saw on the local news a story about a woman in Oregon who got
absentee ballot for her to vote from when she lived in another state 3 years ago - mailed to her new address inside mcsame literature. The news was nice enough to tell us that if someone should cast 2 votes it would be a felony, BUT there is no inter-state registry, so it's unlikely they'd get caught.

It'a not just the corporations, it's also the repubs.

6. And in all of this...
....confusion reigns. And when confusion is the order of the day, the criminals find doors open to them.

In most places there will have been after this election, 3 different types of vote counters used in the last 3 elections. Confusion reigns.

There is not much we can do now to avert a stolection in 2008. But we have laid the groundwork for reform before the 2010 election. And part of that will be the discovery of the numbers of this election that shows the machines stole votes. Shouldn't be too hard.

We could use TIA back with us. Maybe the admins could see their way to letting him come back and join us?

8. Surely he is
Maybe Hagel realizes what he has helped wrought, and maybe, my theory goes, that ES&S will allow Obama to win.
