Your vote faces challenges like never before
As It Stands by Dave Stancliff/For the Times-Standard
Article Launched: 10/26/2008 01:29:59 AM PDT

If we want our votes to count in elections we need to get rid of the computers, go back to paper ballots, and encourage state election officials to vigorously monitor voter registration.

(snip)

Your vote is under attack from many directions. Officials across America are outsourcing our very democracy to the private companies that make the e-voting machines.

As It Stands, if we don't want this presidential election to be “stolen,” as some feel the 2004 election was, then we need more accountability throughout the process. We also need to toss the e-vote machines in the trash and start printing ballots immediately!
