Will the Democrats now be able and willing to give the US an election process where one can trust that the votes are counted accurately?

I'm not sure they can ignore the groundswell/grassroots kind of thing which has happened because of the internet, blogs, etc.

If it helps, I saw on Obama's site that the first thing he wants to do is to make the government more transparent and less crony-riddled. A damn good start.

4. No. By definition, officeholders are people who have won elections.

If it was by 52/48, they could give a rat's ass that the real numbers might have been 54/46. And if the real numbers were actually 49/51 and they lost, they REALLY don't want to know.

Therefore citizens just have to keep pushing at them until they do something.
