Please let the EAC know what you think of their paperless, into the void voting machines by Monday Dec 8th! The sooner, the better! They say they are posting our comments on the website. Sounds like a great way to educate the public on the problems of electronic voting.

EAC Chair Rodriguez Seeks Public Input on December Meeting


WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) Chair Rosemary E. Rodriguez invites the public to submit written testimony for the EAC’s December 8th public meeting, which includes a panel discussion about the 2008 Election Day Survey and voting system performance. The meeting agenda is available at www.eac.gov.

“Public interest in voting system performance has not waned since the November election, which is why I think it is important to include this topic in the December public meeting,” said Chair Rodriguez. “I would like to invite the public to provide written testimony on this topic or any others on the meeting agenda, and will direct EAC staff to post all testimony received at www.eac.gov.

“The EAC received very valuable input on the 2008 Election Day Survey during the 60-day public comment period. I encourage everyone to provide input as we continue to offer public comment opportunities. Public participation is very important, especially when it comes to elections.”

Written testimony for the public meeting should be submitted by e-mail to [e-mail]. Deadline for receiving testimony is Monday, December 8, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The EAC is an independent commission created by the HAVA. The EAC serves as a national clearinghouse and resource of information regarding election administration. It is charged with administering payments to states and developing guidance to meet HAVA requirements, adopting voluntary voting system guidelines, and accrediting voting system test laboratories and certifying voting equipment. It is also charged with developing and maintaining a national mail voter registration form. The four EAC commissioners are Rosemary Rodriguez, chair; Donetta Davidson, vice chair; Gracia Hillman; and Gineen Beach.
