Congratulate yourself! Thanks to the years of effort by citizens like you, the last few months have been very rewarding for people who are passionate about verifiable elections. The November 2008 election saw more American jurisdictions than ever adopt verifiable voting systems. Over 20 states conducted, or are now finishing, manual post-election audits of 2008 vote tallies. Major challenges lie ahead, though: 2009 will offer one of our best shots to secure future federal elections, but there will also be serious efforts to reverse the progress for which we have all worked so hard. Here is an update on some of the most important current voting technology issues in the U.S., and on Verified Voting's ongoing efforts.
