Texas Voting Machine Company Has Vanished - Co. Cannot Collect Judgement for Faulty Machines
http://www.mcall.com/news/local/all-a1_3machines.6755618jan24,0,1479759.story

Excerpts:

"County unlikely to collect in voting machine case
Northampton can't reach firm that sold faulty equipment.

Allentown PA Morning Call
January 24, 2009

Sitting in a storeroom at Northampton County's voter registration office are 600 worthless voting machines the county paid $2.1 million to get.

The good news is last month the county won a default judgment against the company that sold the faulty machines. The bad new is it's unlikely the county will collect a cent from Advanced Voting Solutions Inc. of Frisco, Texas.

''We can't find them,'' said assistant county solicitor Christopher Spadoni. ''They don't answer mail, they don't answer phones and they haven't responded to our suit. They're gone. Fade to black.''

Spadoni sued Advanced Voting Systems in Northampton County Court to recover $1.9 million in damages because the machines were decertified after being used just three times. The company has not responded to any of the court filings, and the county was awarded a default judgment last month, Spadoni said. Later this month, a county judge will hold a hearing to determine how much the county should be awarded, but county officials say the judge's decision will probably be moot because the Texas company appears to have vanished."

6. I don't beleive it for a second.
Companies have people running them.
Incorporation papers have people's names.
All they gotta do is look up the CEO's credit report, which has latest address, phone, etc.
Somebody is not trying very hard.
They don't respond" does not mean they can't be found.

7. It'll take some digging
They must have contacts for some of the people they dealt with. From there, they should be able to trace credit accounts and Social Security Numbers.
