NY1: "Are we expecting FL 2000 reduc?"

Brennan Center's Larry Norden: "It's unavoidable....if you don't fix this problem there are gonna be votes lost."

1. Norden channels Stanislevic.
I hope it's the start of a trend.

2. This should be a learning experinece for everyone who wants to trust election officials...

...to run computerized elections.

Some will blame the board of elections, as Dick Dadey of Citeens' Union did in the video when he said, "The agency does not have the capacity to deal with these machines; it's clear because they're not able to correct this."

But our elections were fine when our bipartisan hacks were running them on lever machines. Could it be that the new machines, and not the people, are to blame?

3. With the lever system I didn't have to trust election officials as much.

Elections were fine when bipartisan hacks ran them on lever machines because the lever system was about nothing if not making it difficult for anyone to screw up...or with it.

What do we have with e-voting? Layers of mutable software and firmware and vendors who schmooze with election officials.

Kellner claims we won't "trust the machines" for election results in New York State. Perhaps what he meant is we're gonna be trusting him.

4. I'll bet the rate of elections officials retiring to a tropical paradise was a lot lower
when lever machines were in use !:eyes:
