Intimidation tactics. In light of the Madison protests, look at what
Wisconsin voters had to deal with last Autumn, in the run up to the 2010 elections:

Several organizations are protesting billboards in Milwaukee that discourage voters from committing voter fraud saying they are attempting to suppress the minority vote.

The groups, including the League of Young Voters, convened Tuesday to protest the billboards, which say “Voter fraud is a felony,” and depict three people behind bars, one an African-American man. The billboards also state the penalty for committing voter fraud: Three years in jail and a $10,000 fine.

Critics of the advertisements have said they are an effort to suppress the votes of certain groups, including minorities and young voters.

Scare tactics are often in use in our election system. And no one has stepped forward to say they were behind the campaign and these billboards.

1. New election laws being pushed by the Republicans
They would require a photo ID (not including a student ID). Even though they would give a state ID free upon request, this presents problems in getting to the DMV and paying for the required birth certificate to get the ID. They also want to end our same-day registration and lengthen the time one must live in a place before voting there (currently 10 days). All this would cost millions to implement for virtually no use in preventing voter fraud. Sheesh.
