Cartoon: Anti Voter Legislation in North Carolina (applies to many other states too)

Cartoon posted in the Charlotte Observer on 4/30/2011 about NC GOP anti-voting bills (several of them) "How can anyone believe we're trying to drive down voter turnout?"

North Carolina Republicans have a majority in both the state house and state senate for the first time in 112 years. Now that they have control, they are planning to pass several different voter suppression laws: A very strict Photo ID law, Shorten early voting, and eliminate Same Day Registration (only used during early voting anyway).

They initially wanted to give back $6M in HAVA funds because they didn't want any of it to be used to help with in person voting and also early voting. They have a real war going on against in person voting.

2. The GOP everywhere is always trying to prevent people from voting

The only reason I can think of for the practice is that they know it is the only way they can win elections.

If every citizen of voting age were to vote, the GOP wouldn't exist because they would never have a candidate in office.
