This is kind of on/off topic, but I need your help
So don't hurt me:) I am posting here because:

1) A lot of folk may remember who I am and what my history is on e-voting issues.

2) What I am now doing is tangentially related given the 2012 elections coming up.

I am not asking for letters on the voting issue, but your stories and how the economy is hurting you and your loved ones. I am looking for your stories.

I have posted elsewhere that Occupy Greensboro intends to send a delegation to President Obama when he comes to town tonight. The delegation will bear YOUR letters expressing YOUR concerns and YOUR stories. We are offering to act as the messengers for YOUR message. I am prepared to stand outside his hotel all night to ask for five minutes of his time to personally deliver your messages.

I am getting lots of people telling me I am dreaming if I think he'll actually meet with me. Others tell me I will be arrested.

If so, so be it.

But I NEED your letters. I'll stand in the cold, all night and risk arrest, you know, the hard work. Can I impose on some of you to take a few minutes to write a 1-2 page letter and send it to me to print out?

If so, send it to DearMrPresident@OccupyGreensboro.org

You can read our open letter at www.OccupyGreensboro.org

Those of you who remember me from the days of fighting Diebold know that I am, if nothing else, highly tenacious.

Thanks for your time!

David Allen (Not Skinner, the other one)

P.S. Deadline is 7:00PM EST

1. I have sent my letter, and so has my Mom in SC
If we do it and you don't get to see the President, then at least we tried. If we do it and you DO get to see the President, then we make history. What do we have to lose?

Send in your letters, folks. Instead of just being dissatisfied with the economy and the state of your health care, let Obama know how you personally have been affected. You have nothing to lose.

4. One day late but for the next time
Sorry I missed you; I would have come up with something. recently one of my biggest complains is the fact that there is so much price fixing going on and planned obsolescence to ensure that consumers have to buy things over and over again even when they were built to last much longer thirty years ago. This is made possible by the fact that they can use their market power to ensure that they don't have real competition except for other oligarchies that use the same tactics. To ensure this they use slotting fees and other tactics to maintain virtual monopolies. I have written about this in a past blog a few months back in a blog about Complacent Consumers having few if any rights and more recently ranted about the protests and other ways some of us can bring attention to it and the issues of consumer fraud in another about Occupy Wall Street and Cash Register Protests. there will be plenty of other opportunities to get views across to Obama or better yet elect a politician who starts out by listening to the voters on a regular basis. this is all the more reason why I believe we should have election reform that is controlled by the public.
