I'm halfway through it. So far it's a damn fine read.

It's a wonderfully well-researched book, a bit unusual for a horror novel. It almost reads like those popular historical nonfiction books. Well fleshed out characters, a neat setting, some surprises, some things I thought were cliches but turned out not to be cliches...

Anybody else reading it?

1. I haven't heard of it till now . . .

. . . but the Hyperion series was fantastic, so I'm having to go out and git a copy.
