I never have, but I enjoyed Lenora Mattingly Weber's Beany Malone series decades ago, and on a web page about Weber's books, Janet Lambert was also mentioned.

1. I've read them all. There is an online group that discusses them. |
|
I could probably get you the information if you need it (I'm not on that group).

2. Could never get into Lambert |
|
I tried. But I have a huge collection of other 'malt shop' books as they're called -- including all of Lenora Mattingly Weber's books.

3. I like Weber's books too, but haven't been able to get into Lambert |
|
But it may be a cultural thing in part: Weber's books may be more accessible than Lambert's to a non-American.
Do you like Maud Hart Lovelace's Betsy-Tacy books? They seem to appeal to a similar audience to Weber, and I also enjoy them and find them more accessible than Lambert.
BTW, there is actually an e-mail discussion group dedicated to books by Weber and similar authors. PM me if you would like the details and don't have them already.

Tried several from a local library.
I'll try Maud Hart Lovelace's books.
I've heard of that discussion group, thanks.
