Fans of Blood Meridian? I have a question

I find his critique frankly simplistic and a little juvenile; what do you think?


(I have more elaborate thoughts on the subject, but I didn't want to go on a rant until I determine whether there's enough interest in the book)

But what I took from that ending...that would be more shocking than anything else...was that the judge let the kid go. Walk free. Everybody else geared up for gore and stupendous violence would have been totally shut down by compassion and release.
