Last Night at the Lobster by Stewart O'Nan is just what it say; the last day and night of a Red Lobster as told through the perspective of the hard working diligent manager...
Ghost by Alan Lightman a story about a new worker in a Mortuary who has a vision while contemplating in the viewing room one day. It's a great story about life, unexpected turns and how people connect with one another...
Both books I would highly recommend...
But if you are on a budget, take the library for Lobster since it is a bit pricey at 19.95 for what is essentially a novella...

Sounds like my kind of book...
I'll look at Amazon since I won't be at Costco anytime soon...
Thanks for the reference!
