Question about the Stephen King book "Duma Key" (MAJOR spoilers)
Edited on Wed Nov-19-08 11:17 PM by XemaSab
Was Elizabeth on Perse's side?

If not, why did she want Edgar to get rid of all the paintings?

1. She thought if the paintings were dispersed, their power would be diffused.
Perse was strengthened by the paintings, so spreading them out would prevent her from returning, but she had already grown too powerful. Remember, she was a toddler when she dealt with Perse, so she didn't understand her.

3. Thats how I viewed it as well
the last 150 pages when the story started getting really flushed out, it was sorta hard to follow the road map of the storyline, but I think you are exactly right about the paintings

2. Just started this book Monday.
Consequently, I don't yet know who Elizabeth and Perse are.

The sketches are just beginning to get the slightest bit weird, though, and I'm loving the tale so far. :D
