Any other Tess Gerritsen fans here?

I only discovered her last summer and have been really enjoying her books.

I just finished Bloodstream and her surprise ending had me almost completely fooled. I love when that happens, because too many plots are just too predictable.

Great medical/scientific thrillers!

2. Yes, Gerritsen is great.

She is more dependable than most.

4. Yes, some authors become too predictable.

They have a couple of pet themes or plot tricks and just use them to death. That's when I get bored. I haven't hit that point with Gerritsen and hope I never do.

The Mephisto Club was the very first Gerritsen book I picked up in a used book store.

Unlike the hypothesis the author of the Globe article is attempting to construct, this "little old lady" doesn't particularly like scary "horror" stuff, and murder/sex/gore are not what attract me in thrillers.

Intricate plots, strong characters, scientific/medical detail, psychological labyrinths, dabbling in the unknown (even supernatural), and really unpredictable surprise endings are what capture me.

I didn't think to look her up in that regard, but I did get the overall "good person" vibe from her books. Thanks for confirming that impression. :)
