Heading out on 12-city FADE (Wake, bk 2) book tour: California, Ohio, NYC
Hey DU,

I'm packing for my book tour! First stop, San Diego, then eight other appearances in California (L.A. and San Francisco vicinities), then a couple stops around Cincinnati area, and ending in NYC.

Full tour details on my website: http://lisamcmann.com/html/tour.php

Thank you for your support! FADE is in its 5th week on the New York Times bestseller list (currently at #6) and is #9 on the Publishers Weekly bestseller list. You guys rock.

What's the trilogy about? A 17-year-old girl who gets sucked into other people's dreams. Plus there's a hot guy.

(And for those of you on kitteh watch, in honor of FADE's five weeks on the NYT bestseller list, I have adopted a stray from a rescue shelter. Named her Captain after a character in the book, and because she thinks she's the boss of all of us. Pictures and details on my bloggy: http://lisamcmann.blogspot.com/2009/03/i-has-nyt-bestselling-kittehand-she.html )

Would love to see you if you can make it to a signing!

xo
Lisa

3. Way to go!
My stepdaughter is in London for the Galaxy British Book Awards. She was nominated for an award so we are keeping our fingers crossed.

She says book tours are a lot of fun but all the travel is impeding her progress on her second book.

4. Yes -- I can relate
I'm back now and got to meet one of DU's own at a TV station where I did a book talk show in Santa Rosa, CA. Very fun, exhausting, but well worth it.

Now it's time to get writing again (as soon as I do my taxes, eep).

5. Good on you for adopting a kitteh. She's gorgeous, but you'd
better watch out: tortoiseshell kittys are very smart and very busy. I hope you have a job lined up for her. Captain is a great name.

Oh, BTW, I loved WAKE and have a copy of FADE on my stack of books to read. When I'm finished, I'll donate them to my little underfunded county library. Love your blogspot, too.

6. Thanks Japple!
I really appreciate that.

Cappy is a handful and we are having fun with her. She's extremely smart and often acts as attack cat -- if she knows someone's at the door, she checks out the sitch at the window and also growls at strangers. Have never seen a cat growl like this before. It's hilarious.

7. glad you named the cat. She is lovely. I loved the Simon Shuster suggestion
a used bookstore here had a pair of cats named Simon and Shuster. They were adorable.

We have Lewis and Clark and CatZilla!

You could have named her Fade, as she is a faded calico.
