Anyone here dreaming about an elderly black woman in a cornfield?
You know, she's beckoning you, telling you to come and bring all your friends...

Or are you having the dream about that scary-ass walkin' dude stalking you?

8. "The Stand" was his best book all those years ago.
Captain Trips escaped from a Texas facility as I recall. Does this explain the new swine flu?

11. There was a thread earlier alleging that the swine flu going around was an escaped bioweapon...
Though IIRC, the secret bioweapons facility was in California, but that guard escaped and made it to Texas before he and his family succumbed to Blue.

31. Haven't read the book. The beginning of the TV movie had me riveted though...
Really liked the first part of the story... the breakout of the virus, then showing the landscape emptied of people while a few try to survive.

24. I dreamt I was being chased by miniature black flying dragons recently.
I woke up in a state close to total panic from it, too.

They were about 8 feet long with huge teeth. That's all I remember. :scared:

King must not like kitties too much. I think he's kinda like Dean Koontz if you want the truth...

True story about reading The Stand. I've told it here before, but given the latest panic level it is worth re-telling:

I was at the part in the book where everyone has died off from the flu. I'd just read page after page hearing about the wet sneezes and the stiff necks and about people seeming to get better for a short bit and then the antigen would shift and they'd get sick again. I spent al that time hearing about how that killer flu was spread from person to person...

I went to the grocery store and was standing in the checkout line behind some lady who turned around and sneezed all over me (I don't think she even realized I was standing there behind her...) I almost ran out of that store screaming.
