Brother Cadfael lives in England in the 1100's.

He's a monk, but as a young man he went on Crusades. He knows all about herbs and how to make potions, poultices, etc. with them. He treats the sick and wounded. And he seems really happy.

2. Cadfael is a marvelous character, but...
I'm not sure I would want to live in the 12th century.

3. I love Cadfael mysteries.
The books are the best, of course, but I miss the old show on PBS.

4. His only problem is, people around him keep getting killed.
Bad karma from the crusades, maybe.

5. I need to find a few more Cadfael books; I've read one and
really enjoyed it.

I might like to be Harriet Vane from Dorothy Sayers books.

6. I'm reading one right now
and finding it rather heavy going. I didn't expect the (English) inquisition.

But will today when I hit the library. I think I'll be Miss Marple.
