My brother picked it up for me at Christmas. It's in hardcover. I love sitting in the recliner and cracking open a big hardcover book.

5. Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts

So far it is amazing. I love novels that give you a glimpse into another place, another culture. This gives more than a glimpse into India. I feel immersed, in the place and the story.

Oh, and I got the title from one of the DU - fiction threads!

19. Ireland a novel by Frank Delaney

Finished Jonathan Strange & Mr Norell last week and have to say it's not only one of the best fantasy novels I've ever read, it's one of the best PERIOD.

Sheep work together to solve the murder of their shepard...worth reading to see their low opinion of God, or who they think he is...I speed read it, skipping a lot, but it was interesting...takes place in Ireland.

The next books on my plate are Tommy Knockers and Desperation by S. King.

After those two, I think I'm going to read Wizards First Rule by T. Goodkind.

That was the first Stephen King book I not only didn't like, I couldn't even finish. I gave it about 55 pages, and it just wasn't doing ANYTHING for me. I was kind of amazed, as I think I've read about everything he's ever written, and really liked most of it.
