I just finished listening to I, Sniper, by Stephen Hunter. The series character is a retired Marine sniper in his 60s. I'd never read any books in this series before, and this is #6, I think. The evil bad guy is a billionaire lefty business tycoon who managed to avoid being caught for two murders he committed during a bank robbery in 1971. The NYT is evil. The FBI is fantastic. There is lots of shooting.

I thought it was an absolute hoot, and I was rooting for the sniper and the FBI the whole way.

Those suckers are dangerous. Is there a militia out there that just goes for walks in the woods without guns? Maybe with cameras? Like a birdwatching militia, or a camera safari kind of militia. I don't think so, though. I think you need to have a room temperature IQ and be certifiably nuts to hook up with a militia. I think it's actually in militia bylaws. If you're a high school graduate, you can't join.
