Recommendation: Nigel McCrery
I just finished reading Tooth & Claw by Nigel McCrery. It's mostly a typical British police procedural, with a few twists. I found the writing to be tight, the pacing excellent, the characters so well developed that I thought that this must have been the 5th or 6th in a series; it was only the second. I'm now reading the first. It's not great literature, but it's an enjoyable read.
