Paul Auster's new novel SUNSET PARK ?--

I need help with this! Have to write a report on it, and I'm going "duh!" It's new, so there's probably only book reviews out in it yet. Can anyone direct me to one that would clarify the book's plot and/or purpose? And/or anything on is fiction in general?

I'd intended to go there anyway, eventually, but I was surprised by the number and range of comments this had already accumulated.

But I'm still confused about one point. Who is the Can Man? At first I though he was just a derelict who'd befriended Miles, but near the book's end it sounds like he's either an alter ego or a hallucination that Miles's father has. Can anybody help with this?
